I got a 2nd opinion from IAP and was told most of the work the dealership wanted to do was not needed. A clip will probably will need to be replaced at some point but not now. I have owned that car for 15 years and you also worked on my Acura Integra that I owned prior to that. That I did not need anything major for some time does not mean I have not been a regular customer. You are a bit far to go for an oil change. I also recently referred 3 people to your business. If I was there for a second opinion as you claim, and did not like the answer. how come my money was good enough for you when I brought the car to you, but not when I question your diagnosis. if the rear main seal was the culprit in your opinion and I came in with this issue, then that should have been the repair and we would not be having this disagreement. Then Shelby lies and says you do not have the tools to do a rear main seal repair, then why did you take my money to fix any other thing? I have always thought you were a straight shooter, and sadly now I do not. I guess I should never have told you anything about this other garage I took the car to since you then used it against me. I had asked around my network for recommendation on a honest mechanic that can check and let me know if my car was ready to go cross-country along with a regular service check. I was told to call them up. I did and got an appointment 3 days later. I am super nervous as I'm mid-30year old woman with two kids who know nothing about cars but didn't want to be taken advantage of. The place is first of all very female-friendly as in, I didn't feel uncomfortable there with my children. It was clean and bright! They were ready 9am sharp. Shelby was so kind and made sure my questions and concerns was conveyed to the mechanic. Everything was checked - car was even on the lift. I got a print out with details and that it was all well except one minor thing which they gave me information on to get it fixed. This is the best mechanic shop in town. It's not every day that you need repairs done on your car. However, when you do, you want to make sure you're properly taken care of! I was referred to them by a friend. My first experience was getting a sensor fixed. I accepted the original quote and had them do the work... When the work was done, I was charged less than the Original Quote. My most recent experience was a few weeks ago. My car overheated on a Saturday, after hours. On Monday morning I had the car towed there. I had no appointment or anything... Within two hours of drop off, I got a call telling me what the problem was, and it was covered by my warranty. Between diagnosis, ordering parts, repairs, and recovering my car, it took 3 days! I was expecting to be out of a car for at least a week. Another experience I had, was taking in a Test Drive from a Dealership.... They were 100% honest on the condition of the car which saved me from buying a Lemon! I was in and out within 20 minutes. Was recommended here by Paul Workman, my banker friend. He said Mark was the best and he wasn't kidding. Although I worked with someone else mostly there, my 2007 Toyota Tundra had transmission problems. He diagnosed a common trans issue that required a new transmission. The extended warranty people made him do additional work before authorizing a used transmission. Import Auto Pros installed two transmissions after ordering three of them even though they were only paid to do it once. I'm so grateful these guys kept at the problem til it was done right. The time and unpleasant feelings are forgotten because this was five years ago and my truck just turned over 200,000 miles without a single problem except this trans issue. Thank you to Mark and his team for their thorough work and professionalism. I usually do all my own work, but I made a mistake and broke the head off of a bolt (too much weightlifting ;) They drilled out the bolt and replaced it with one from their own stock. On top of that they didn't charge me a dime. I could not believe it. Because before I took my SUV there I called 4 other places. Two told me they couldn't help me and the other a car dealership said it would cost $150 an hour plus material (and he assured me they would break several drill bits due to the complexity of the job and that it could take up to 3 hours). Repairs took way too long to diagnose and down the rabbit hole of expensive repairs to eventually get my car back. The other reviews state these guys are fast I would say nothing is further from the truth. It took them a week to figure out my car needed a $150 fuel pump by way of $700 of other charges like spark plugs, fuel system check, etc. I told them my AC was working intermittent so again more $$$ to check for leaks and more days of not figuring out what is wrong to find out they say I need to replace the compressor for $1200. I did not pay to have this repaired here because it probably would have led to some other $$$ needed for something else. Red flag number one was no import cars in the shop, all American cars, which doesn't make sense for a company called Import Auto Pros. I have since gone back to the shop I normally use where they are priced fair and do not make me pay for numerous repairs that do not fix the original issue. read more
