I moved to Sheboygan in August of last year and have found Imogene's to be a clean, friendly place to do my laundry. Until now. I took my queen size down, L.L. Bean, pillow in to be dry-cleaned. My first time using Imogene's for that purpose. A new employee took my information and her rude attitude made me hesitate to continue with the transaction. I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was having a bad day. I was so wrong. I came in today to pick up my pillow. I paid for the dry-cleaning then went to the next counter to pick up my pillow. It was not my pillow. This same employee called someone else on the telephone when she could not find MY pillow. This other person stated that they send the pillows out, take the cover off and dump the contents to clean the contents, then put the contents into a new cover/container. I did not know this. If I had, I would not have had my pillow cleaned at Imogene's. I have NEVER had a dry clean business do this. The cover was cheap and beyond poorly sewn. It was disgusting. The contents also seemed to be feathers and I told the employee that the pillow I brought in was DOWN. She got angry and said feathers and down were the same thing. She said I could google it. It got worse from there. She had me talk to the person on the telephone who said they could not refund my money because the 'manager' was on vacation. She was not helpful, but said that 'Rosalie' would call me back on Monday of next week. I got angry and said I was done and that I did not want this pillow. I shoved it across the counter (important for later) and handed the phone back to the employee that had been 'helping' me. I was so angry that Imogene's had ruined my pillow, I went to stand by my washing clothes and just stared at the machine. I tried to get my head around the fact that my favorite down pillow was gone. Then, the employee walks by with a surly attitude. She said that I assaulted her with the pillow and that it hit her eye. I said that I did not know that and was about to apologize when she continued on. I was shocked at her vitriol. I said that she had ruined my pillow and she denied it. I restated that she, as a representative of Imogene's, had destroyed my pillow. She refused to address that and she spewed more invective. At this point I had had enough and I told her to go 'f' herself and tried to ignore her. She then stated that I had physically assaulted her and now I was verbally assaulting her and that she could have me escorted from the premises. I continued to ignore her and paid attention only to my wash. Once my laundry quit spinning, a man came up to me and told me to get my wet clothes and get my ass out of Imogene's. He did not identify himself nor did he ask about and problems. I was shocked and said 'excuse me?' He said that I could not talk to his employee's that way. I said that she, as a representative of Imogene's, made me want to have nothing further to do with them. I gathered my belongings and left.
At no point did any employee or owner of Imogene's act or speak respectfully and not one employee or owner of Imogene's addressed the destruction of my pillow.
I will be sincerely shocked if 'Rosalie' calls me. read more
