Beautiful new location of the Catholic Church in Sparks NV with a great choir. The mass is electronically projected on screens for the audience to see the songs and liturgy.

I love how the church is standing in a hilly area in Sparks where there's unobstructed view of the snow-covered mountains south of Reno. Certain Sunday masses are bilingual (have yet to see a trilingual one) but I think what's good about how they do it is if one part of the mass is said in Spanish, the overhead screen displays it in English and vice versa. That way, no one really feels lost during the mass. :) They have daily masses in the morning at 9am except Wednesdays, when its at 5:30PM.

Great Ash Wednesday service. I am still looking for a Catholic Church. If this were closer I would choose them. I felt very welcome.

My Journey to Finding a Church Home I started going to Rock…read moreChurch last Christmas, and it all began with the Ugly Sweater service. That one experience told me everything I needed to know--this was the church for me. Their "come as you are" and "all are welcome" message isn't just something they say--it's something they live. Let me start by saying I'm 62 years old. I've always considered myself spiritual, but not necessarily religious. Maybe it has something to do with the 12 years I spent in Catholic school. Faith has always been important to me, but I never quite found a church community that felt like home--until now. A few things immediately put me at ease and made me realize this was the church family I'd been searching for. Pastor Rebecca shared openly about her struggles with faith--how she questioned it many times over the years. That honesty made me feel seen and reminded me it's okay to wrestle with doubt. In later services, she continued to speak vulnerably about her faith, her family, and even her own challenges. She's real, and that means everything. Every time Pastor Rebecca speaks, I feel like I'm learning something. She breaks things down in a way that's approachable--combining scripture, educational insight, humor, and vulnerability. She doesn't preach at us--she invites us into the message. Pastor Connie is the real deal too. She's not overly polished or rehearsed, and her messages always give me something to reflect on. She shares from her own life experiences, which makes her so approachable and genuine. She's encouraged us to listen for God, to be patient, to trust that prayers will be answered in His time. Most of all, she reminds us that God is in our corner--not judging us, but loving us and lifting us up. She's also spoken about the fears we all carry--not just for ourselves, but for the marginalized and vulnerable in today's world. She doesn't shy away from tough topics but meets them with compassion and truth. There was a time when I walked out of a Christmas service at another church feeling completely discouraged. The head pastor told the congregation that some of us weren't going to make it--and I left that day wondering if I'd ever find a church that inspired me to do good, to be good, and to believe that God truly wants us to succeed. A place where Jesus is more than a symbol--He's a friend, a brother, an example to live by. And I'm happy to say I've finally found that place. Rock Church has become the spiritual home I didn't even realize I was searching for. I'll be honest--they encourage us to participate and get involved, and I haven't quite stepped into that yet. For now, I've been watching from afar, soaking it all in. But something in me knows... I won't be sitting on the sidelines forever. And I haven't even mentioned the worship team--amazing! The music is so moving, and sometimes Pastor Connie or Pastor Rebecca are right up there, singing or playing guitar. It's not a performance--it's worship. I can truly feel the Holy Spirit through the songs, and there have been moments when I've been brought to tears. So, if you're someone still searching for a place where you're accepted as you are... a place that feeds both your heart and your mind... a place where faith is real, honest, and alive--this might be that place for you too.

I tried to be of service too but didn't end up getting a job there . I ran into hardship eventually and we ended up not pre paying for day care at some point and was told we needed to leave work and come get the children. I believe we were 50 bucks behind . This is when the church went completely sideways, I would get calls almost daily asking for the 50 dollars , I had pulled the kids out of day care completely and found other means , at the time we started even using the food pantry because we were struggling so bad , Andy was head of music , he would give me a reminder every Sunday of what I owed too , even when I showed up to pick up food from the food pantry, I can't remember if it was Andy's wife , I think it was , I'm not certain but a lady literally made us feel so terrible for being so broke , I have never had a church make me feel so ashamed for not paying them money ( 50 bucks sadly ). I even asked if they could just help me with it or hold off until I get back on track . But they never let me live it down . It seems so petty . I know, it's been over 6 yrs now and I'm doin really great today , thank the good lord and I'm currently looking for a church again , I have not been back to a church since then . I really wanted to share this experience because it truly hurt my heart . I hope they are not this way still but it really felt like they all were clicked up with each other and had no problem shaming you tell you leave . They continued calling for a good long time too . It was a very sad story all the way around . All over 50 dollars, I'll never understand.

I had an opportunity this evening to volunteer for a non profit called "Youth First Reno/Sparks"…read morealthough you can find them on Face Book I wanted to take the opportunity to bring a little love to this wonderful organization. Lori is a spark plug and once you meet her you'll never forget her. She is the face of Youth First and has a huge heart for youth at risk in our community. Sparks Christian Fellowship was the facility that facilitated this wonderful event tonight so shout out to them as well. I'd never been here before but was impressed by their efforts to bring some Christmas joy to our more vulnerable residents. I was tasked with in the secret wrap room that provided gifts for parents to choose for each of their children and the ability to wrap their gifts. A lot of dear people came through this room. Heart warming. A meal was served as well and a sing along at the end with a wonderful Christmas message. I left feeling the joy of Christmas filled with love and generosity for those less prepared for the stress of this season. Bravo!

Okay, so about me: I like to attend a variety of churches. I attend Centers for Spiritual Living Science of Mind, Unity, Buddhist, Native American, Jewish, and Christian as I really like what is written that Jesus said. One of my favorite Christian churches is Sparks Christian Fellowship. I've been variously attending Sparks Christian Fellowship services, classes and events for a couple of decades and have enjoyed them all. Cleanliness at Sparks Christian Fellowship . . . no worries. It has been my consistent and rewarding experience here that church leadership, church staff, church members, and church volunteers are well-organized, and all walk the talk of Jesus. Matthew 25:35-36 where Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." In stark contrast to many businesses we've frequented lately: No automatic gratuity was demanded for our attendance. No one at this business offered to commit fraud to reward us or pay us or compensate us for posting 5 star reviews of this business. (Under 15 US Code § 45, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the power to stop and penalize parties "FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials as are illegal under Section 5 of the FTC Act (15 USC 45 as they are using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." It a crime to break official rules imposed by the FTC.) No one at this business hassled us about our Service Dog or the Veterans' accouterments we adorn her with lavishly. (When your children are teenagers, it's important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you.) No one at this business took our picture without our permission or publicly posted it without our permission. I'll be back.

It's not what I would have wanted to do, but I do so because it's important to my family. However, I will not let that affect my review and I will be completely unbiased and straightforward with my review. First off, the building is nice and clean inside and there's very little clutter inside. They have a nice little table set up with donuts for guests and coffee as well. The parking lot is pretty small which is surprising to me, but I don't know if that's normal or not for churches. The auditorium was a decent size with a lot of seats all gathered around the stage. I've always found the seating in churches to be incredibly cramped and hard to get in or out of and this one was no different. The chairs are comfortable at least. The service itself was okay. Singing, pastor preaching, everything expected from a church. However, there was a huge abundance of loud background noise while the singing was going on and it was difficult to hear the words. Seems like a poor choice to me to get their message across. If you're a Christian, or looking into getting into Christianity, I'd say this is a perfectly acceptable church to look into. Outside of the poor location as it's difficult to really even tell that it's even there as it just blends in with all the neighboring buildings, it's a fine church.

The grinch, Olaf, Anna & Elsa, and you can't forget about Santa! They also had a live Christmas show they played throughout the event! The weather was mild so being outside was bearable, although by the end of the event at 8pm it was chilly! After the third year in a row again disappointment with the 2025 Thanksgiving Dinner for Veterans at the Washoe County Senior Center in Reno, we were plain relieved to discover that The Bridge Church was having a complimentary 2025 Thanksgiving dinner buffet for Veterans, as it turned out to be a very very well-organized, distinguished and sophisticated event. A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference. -- Eeyore We met many real Christians here which was a relief as we've been meeting far too many CINOs, Christian in Name Only. Many many volunteers from Cookies for Kindness, Reno Arch Lions Club and The Bridge Church, who have all clearly have taken the pledge To Always Remember Veterans and To Leave No Veteran Behind, treated us with dignity, respect, compassion, love, kindness, warmth, manners, consideration, thought, empathy, and thanks as we received over the couple hours we were there, some three dozen thank you, for your Service. The dining hall, tables, table cloths, and napkins were all elegant and classy Thanksgiving decorated. The plates and utensils were high quality rigid plastic well mimicking expensive plates and silverware. The food was all traditional Thanksgiving fixings, and it was all delicious. After our first trip through the buffet line, the very large staff, ranging from children to seniors, waited on us. We were never rushed out. Our hosts really went all out in filling attendee's needs. The combination of the attention to detail, savory food selection, sodas, coffee, tea, water, and exceptionally good customer service meant we lingered a bit longer over our meal, smiled a bit more, pondered the delicious tastes and the pampering we received, and just relaxed as we visited with old Veteran friends and new Veteran friends. They loaded up us with to-go boxes. Here I saw the words in the Bible consistently in action. Proverbs 3:27 "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." And Hebrews 13:2 "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." 1 Peter 5:2-3 No preaching at us. Instead we saw all the many volunteers and staff being powerful examples to the flock of attendees. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. --Mother Teresa. We left happier than we arrived. You betcha I'll be back. P.S. Don't message me because in spite of my several complaints to yelp, for years now I am unable to open up any messages in yelp to me :-(
