I've witnessed so many. I had fat tears rolling down my cheeks. Then they played their final song: Jireh Jireh? I immediately sat down. I'm 56 years old. I've been to church since birth. I'd never heard that word before. Not in church, not anywhere. God created the world with a word. There's power in words. Every word we speak sends a ripple that continues Forever Following that song the "pastor" (if you can call him that) began his message with 2 "words" (if you can call them that) "Jehovah Jireh" The word Jehovah is a fictional word. it's a combination of the 2 words for God (not Jesus) in the old testament Adonai and Yahweh If you want to see how they came about click below Just in case they change the link The YouTube channel is "Full Stack Bible" The episode: Yahweh or Jehovah? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HS_yUDP20TY My mom made an interesting point about names. Jesus's original name is Yeshua. However when we say Jesus, we KNOW who we are talking about. Did anyone know what "pastor" was talking about when he said "Jehovah Jireh". Did the band know what the song meant? The devil likes to keep us confused. The next part of my review is on his message. The "pastor" brought a man up onto the stage to stand in for Jesus. Apparently that "pastor" didn't get the message: Jesus was the first to go to heaven. "He has Risen! He has Risen indeed!" Jesus is now a spiritual being. Like God, He is EVERYWHERE. Later "pastor" talked of Jesus's 40 day fast and mentioned how Satan tempted Jesus by producing a loaf of bread (Ahh that's not how it's written). He said it as though all good Christians are to expected to fast, like wise. Eating bread is sin. If that were true, what's communion? After that part of the message I left. So, I missed the alter call. Did they have one? Here's the actual verse copied from BibleGateway.com Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness 3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[b]" God bless you all.

It was in January of 2022, my wife and I attended this congregation and as the first review on here stated, we were welcomed, had a good sermon and service and felt as if we were invited back at any time. This was the morning service however, I decided to go to the evening service as well and experienced almost an entirely different welcome. It was a singing night there, and having led singing for 41 years and possess a huge enjoyment of accapella church singing, I simply could not wait to sing with the saints in Cottonwood, AZ. The setting was very laid back, which is normal for a singing night. Two gentlemen (the preacher and another gentleman) led the majority and would almost always ask if anyone else would like to lead a song; this question seemed to be pointed at one younger christian sitting in the back. I raised my hand over and over however, I was completely ignored until one older gentleman got up and asked me. His intentions were good, but for some reason, he felt he needed to stand next to me as I led the two songs. While leading the first song, the gentleman that led most of the songs, stood up, tossed his book on the pew and walked out. It was very uncomfortable and I was certainly the elephant in the room, but undeterred called out a second song. I've been a preacher for 27 years and a song leader for 41 years. Like I said in my opening statement, this could have been deliberate, but I want to think it was accidental. It is absolutely important that a congregation represents a "colony of life within a world of death" at all times; if we don't, there could be eternal consequences. I left the building that evening thinking I had offended the two that led the majority of the songs in some way however, I do plan to pass through again and when I do, I will update this review. I'm simply writing this for awareness and I invite everyone to visit this congregation as the older ladies, the older gentleman that led singing, and especially the youg ones on the back row were very inviting. God bless you moving forward! ONWARD & UPWARD!

It's hard to find words to express how thankful and blessed I am to have found this congregation…read more From the moment we walked in the door, we were instantly welcomed and met with some of the most kind hearted people you could ever encounter. After spending many months seeking to find a church that truly followed the Bible and taught the truth in love, I fully believe God led us to the church of Christ in Cottonwood. This is a small congregation located in Cottonwood, AZ, filled with a family of Christians who truly live out their faith. This is a group of people who love one another as Jesus commanded his disciples to, and who diligently strive to follow and obey the word of God. Everything done in this church is done by the authority of Christ, meaning that the Bible is the sole authority for everything they do and preach. Every Sunday, the congregation is led by the men of the congregation in acapella worship hymns (as the first century church did), the Lord's supper (communion), they give as they have been blessed and prospered the previous week (an amount that they have purposed in their hearts for the work of the church and the community), and then there is a sermon preached, and at the end there is an offering to anyone who wants to come to Jesus, obey the gospel, and to be baptized for the remission of their sins. After worship service there is a group Bible study. Everything this church does and teaches is based on the Bible, and is biblically sound doctrine. If you are looking for a church family, where you can worship God in Spirit and in truth look no further than the church of Christ. You will be welcomed with open arms as this is a family truly working to reach the lost and show them the love of Jesus, as well as edify one another, serve one another, and their community.
