If you regularly commute along Gil Puyat Avenue, just a few minutes away from the Buendia LRT Station, then you must have seen on the right side the Imarflex Factory Outlet. I've passed by that building countless times, and I've always been intrigued by the huge tarpaulins that proclaim huge discounts on appliances. But it was only last December when I finally yielded to the call of the 70% discount they promised. I was then looking for an electric oven and a hand mixer to surprise my mom with for Christmas.
From the Vito Cruz LRT Station, where my apartment is near, I walked to Dominga Street and caught a jeep to Pasay City Hall. I alighted at Buendia and walked for five minutes to the Imarflex Factory Outlet. Once inside, I was immediately disappointed to find that most of the electric ovens were at a regular price. In fact, the products on sale were limited, and most of them were on sale because of some minor defects.
But my trip to the outlet did end up worth it because I was able to score a hand mixer at around 30% discount, if I recall correctly. Anyway, I was already eyeing that particular model in SM a few days prior, but couldn't quite afford it yet. I chose from the many units on display, and saw one with just a tiny, almost unnoticeable paint chip. It was almost scot-free. Sweet!
I got it for my mom and it gave us lots and lots of cakes and pies during the holidays. And we lived happily ever after. read more
