Let me start my first review by saying "I cannot recommend this school enough"!!!!!! As a first time mom, I was extremely anxious about sending my 3 yr old to pre school; she herself had some social anxiety and did not take well to new people (or children). After visiting a number of schools in the south suburbs, I felt comfortable enough after my visits to Salem to choose their program, and I'm so glad I did! My daughter has attended this school for 7 months now and LOVES the program; she has blossomed socially and truly loves her new friends and teachers. Equally as important, I am thrilled with the education she receives! In addition to learning the basics (writing her name, recognizing letters, words and numbers, music, etc.) I'm amazed at the spiritual concepts and life lessons she has learned from the teachers at this school (how many 3 year olds can talk to you about taking "personal responsibility")! The staff is so nurturing and loving to the children, all while promoting a high standard of respect and behavior with and amongst the children. My daughter who used to avoid people at all costs.....can't wait to get to school everyday and even asks why she can't spend the night! I can go to work everyday and feel totally confident that my daughter is safe, happy, and LEARNING. If you're looking for a loving environment for your child to learn and grow, check out Salem and allow them to bless your family as they have mine.

In fact, the school was ahead of the game. They had already implemented an e-learning curriculum, for potential snow days. So, when we got the stay at home order, transitioning into e-learning was seemless. The teachers and staff have also done a great job to check in with families and students, to make sure everyone is ok. These are trying times, but I have peace of mind that St. Anne is making homeschooling non-stressful. Thank goodness my kids are enrolled in St. Anne!

I have been connected to the Calvary Academy community since August 2013. I am the husband of a former Calvary teacher, and I am the parent of a current eight grader and fourth grader. In my 13-year experience with Calvary, I have witnessed the school's continuous commitment to providing academic excellence with a sound Christian education. Calvary has remained true to prepare students to live as Kingdom leaders in a fallen world. The faculty and administration are outstanding. The school is moving in a great direction. There has been increased engagement with families with heightened transparent communication between educators and parents. Many opportunities for community development amongst students, parents, faculty, and staff have been implemented. Clearly, GOD's hand is on Calvary Academy. One final note, I believe the fact that the school's student body is predominantly African-American is not a weakness but a strength. No where else in the Chicagoland south suburban region have I heard of another predominantly African-American Christian School. I think that should be celebrated. It places Calvary in a unique position in the Body of CHRIST to fulfill a specific mission to the African-American community that no other Christian school has dared to take.

I can remember every teacher I had and I learned so much and took away so many things, but one thing I will forever be grateful for is being in a culture and community that taught about Jesus Christ. It may not be a big deal to some, but as an adult, I'm soooo grateful for that foundation! Fast forward, my kid has started here and I have no regrets. The teachers are very compassionate and desire for the students to succeed. The administration is AMAZING! I have seen firsthand, how the Head of School (Dr. Page) and Principal Dr. Collins do their best to put the students first and to collaborate with the parents. They actually listen to the concerns of the parents and desire to make things new and fresh at Calvary. I can breathe knowing that when my child walks into that building, that one: he's been prayed for by the staff, two: he's safe, and three: he's growing in education and in the Lord. I mean, what more could you want? Will everything be perfect at a school? Of course not. You won't find perfection anywhere, but can you expect growth in your children, to be heard as a parent, and feel supported? Yes, yes and yes!

I had heard about springboard several years ago but wasn't sure it was for me. School was never my thing and as a single mom of two, I didn't think I'd be able to do it. The instructors really care about each student and always are there for any questions even after graduation. They helped me learn things I never thought I would be able to learn, helped with job search, resume and job placement. They made learning dental fun and easy.
