2nd Best in town…read more We've been in San Vincenzo before and know this place from last time. So we came back this year and hoped it would still be as good. And it's still pretty much the same (mostly in a good way). After it was fully booked on the weekend we came back on a weekday....plenty of tables left. We had some warm Crostini for a starter with two glasses of Spritz (Prosecco with Aperol). A really good choice. Crostini topped with fatty Pancetta, meat, paprika-spread, tomato, artichokes and radicchio. Good to share for two. For the mains we had the Seafood Spaghetti and Pasta with crema di Porcini. The Seafood Pasta is still great. The Pasta with Crema was new to us....interesting combination and very filling. We had some house wine with that (half liter for 4 Euros!). The service was - and this hasn't changed - a bit basic. But the reason could also be that the service doesn't speak much english - and our skills in italian are not really good too. But that's fine....we got what we wanted. And dogs are welcome too! It's a really good restaurant. Our #2 in town (behind "Xke Qua"). Be sure not to miss it, since it's a bit on the northern end of town, but beside a huge parking lot. Surely would go back. Prices are fair too.

One year later - still our favourite place in town!…read more After staying in lovely San Vincenzo last year we came back in 2016. Last time we've visited this wonderful Restaurant three times....it was just so good. So we were wondering if it's still great. And YES....it's still our absolute favourite! The food is fantastic. But it's not only that....it's the whole package. Absolutely great staff, an atmosphere that is welcoming....you'll feel at home immediatly. Great food....convenient location. And due to really low prices (and big portions) an almost unbeatable value! Lavinia and Elena were perfect hosts and made us feel welcome and almost part of the family. It's a cosy restaurant with lots of locals, some italian tourists and the occasional international tourists. This might be different in high season....dunno. The food is real down-to-earth homecooked Italian Food. Pasta, Pizza, Seafood....and more. And it's all cooked to perfection. We loved it so much, this time we came here five times....in one week! The food: Pizza Xke Qua: House Specialty with Prosciutto Crudo, Fresh Cheese, spicy Salami and Porcini. Great flavours, great dough, lots of topping.... fantastic Pizza! Seafood Pasta: A real classic....always tasty with lots of mussels and Shrimp! Tagliatelle with Boar: Good pasta with minced Boar. Great Flavours! Tagliatelle with Lobster: Pasta with real Lobster pices....not just the meat. A feast for the eye and palate. Boar Stew: Good meat in a hearty stew sauce! Spaghetti with Clams: On par the the great Seafood Pasta. Crostini: A nice variety of spreaded bread with artichocke, olive, minced meat, tomato toppings and more. Also a variety with seafood topping is available. A great starter! Fried Seafood: Calamari and Shrimp. Fresh, hot and crispy. And for dessert a real good homemade Cheesecake. Lighter than the american version, but really really tasty. Available with different toppings. Our choice. Frutta di Bosco. A great great restaurant. Lovely staff. Nice, friendly and lively customers and atmosphere. Low prices....high quality food. A great wine selection. Starting from about 10 Euro a bottle! 1/2 liter housewine from 4 Euro! And the place is also dog-friendly! Which is important to us (and our Bulldog). If you only have one night and one place to eat. THIS is the one (open dinner only....with few exceptions). You can also Take-Out Pizza. Thanks again to Lavinia and Elena for making our stay in San Vincenzo once again perfect .... thanks to this lovely place!

We we walked around the pleasant Via Vittorio Emanuele and this one looked pretty good, had some interesting items on the menu. We've stayed in San Vincenzo before, but never dined at this place. Service was basic, but not unfriendly. There are lots of tables to sit...some in a lighter setting, some in darker spots and some outside (roofed). Even though it was a weekend there was plenty of space left. We had some Spritz (Prosecco with Aperol) for a start. Some free Pizza-dough starter came with (hot, salty and crispy - good). For the mains we chose the Octopurs w/ Paprika Sauce and the Pasta with Truffle / Porcini and Salsiccia (italian Sausage). Half liter of House wine with (just 6 Euros). The Pasta was really good! The portion didn't look big, but it was nice fresh pasta, cooked al dente and was pretty filling in the end. The combination with the Salsiccia was very well done! The Octopus tasted fresh and was not rubbery at all. Good sauce. Portion a bit small for the price though. Then we shared a dessert. Forgot it's name. Looked pretty good. It was some puff pastry with vanilla sauce and fruit. It was a bit of a mess though. Nothing really special. Altogether we were still happy with our meal. Not the best place in town (#1 being "Xke Qua" and #2 "Mum & Dad" for us), but a good, solid meal. Atmosphere could be a bit warmer though. Good news: Dogs are allowed.

What is remarkable about it is the creativity and quality of the dishes, well above most restaurants in the area. Their wine list is equally surprising and well above the average of the area. While I have never had it, my friends all said that their pizza is excellent. The reason why I never tried it? Every time I go, I always find something else that I want to try. Their baccala, their burrata-shrimp. and their tuna appetizers are all excellent and creative. Their fish dishes (both grilled and fried) are solid, their pasta dishes and superb (I recommend their nero di seppia del pirata). The only reason this place does not get 5 stars is their grigliata mista, which I did not think was on par with the rest. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.
