Fellow Asians beware: Racist staff denied me service! Told me the restaurant was full (with four…read morepeople in it!), so I asked if I could come back tomorrow. They said no -- I can't eat there today, I can't eat there tomorrow, I can't eat there ever, leave now. Wow okay, eff you too. Pretty sure I heard them mutter "giapponese" too Now I can't decisively prove they were racist, but I can't think of any other reason they'd be immediately interested in making me leave as soon as I stepped in the door. I've been doing perfectly fine dining at other places in Italy, so it almost certainly isn't something to do with my general demeanor. Response to the owner who tried to pass this off as me being an ignorant tourist: of course I know you have to show the Covid green pass! Like I said, I've eaten everywhere else in Italy without a problem. The problem is definitely not that I don't know how Italy works or that I don't know how to order at Italian restaurants. The thing is, your restaurant staff did *not* ask me for a green pass. In fact, they didn't ask me for anything. They wanted me out as soon as I stepped in, so it must have been something that enables them to make a snap judgment call like that. If it were because I wasn't wearing a suit, why not tell me there's a dress code to enforce? (And why wasn't anyone else dressed up?) If it were actually because the restaurant is completely booked out both today and tomorrow and for the entire foreseeable future, why not just tell me I need a reservation? (And why haven't I seen any other reviews mentioning you need a reservation weeks in advance?) I tried to politely ask how I can eat here, and they didn't even want to try to communicate with me. Just angrily insisted that I get out. If they were at all interested in having me as a customer, they surely would've proffered more of an explanation than "We're full" and brusquely showing me the door. I'm afraid I'm out of ideas other than "racism." Maybe your staff welcomes foreigners of other types -- but certainly not Asians!

I went to try something local, and the waiter took me some very local dishes. A homemade pasta with…read morehomemade pesto (Pesto comes from Genoa area and here you can find some amazing pesto's). The Court was to perfection - very powerful but not bitter! For the second dish, I got an octopus with a robust tomato sauce, it was really good. For these wonderful dishes we got a red lambrusco - good taste. Deserten was a lemon sorbet with a touch of vodka - it was good. The price was also ok!
