This is a review for the restaurant for this location. I wanted a quick snack and I noticed they had a small plate for €1.99, so I *thought* I ordered that. When it came to checking out, it was €3.49. I asked why it was more expensive and the lady said "this is what the system rang up". I pointed at the giant sign which said €1.99, but she insisted the price is right. Okay, fine. It's just a tiny difference. Plus, there was a long line of people waiting to check out so I paid. Here's where the one star actually comes from. She didn't print out a receipt for me, just started chatting with the next customer in line. I asked for the receipt again, but got ignored. I asked again, louder, but still got ignored. Again, there was a lot of people so I decided to just come back for the receipt after everyone else checked out. Now there's no one in line, but she ignores me AGAIN. Lady, I just want a receipt... I'm not asking you for a refund. I'm just asking for something that IMO should have been given to me without even having to ask for it. Then another guy, who looked like the manager, came over and only then was I no longer ignored. Turns out she didn't know how to print out the receipt after the fact, so the guy had to help her. He also explained that there was a dish for €1.99, but it was sold out so they gave me the more expensive dish (without me knowing). To be honest, when I had sat down to eat, I already had a suspicion that was the case, but I do appreciate the guy for taking the 2 seconds needed to explain that. I get that if I'm yelling, if I'm cursing, if I'm insulting, then by all means ignore me. But if all I'm saying is, "please give me the receipt", then I shouldn't be ignored... Rude much? Sigh. P.S. New and improved, this IKEA is now the largest in the country and the fact that I live a fifteen minute bike ride away makes me a very happy camper! Right now I'm still excited for them to finish the new restaurant which should reopen in about two or three weeks. Though I still love IKEA Amersfoort, the proximity to my house and size of this one, may just make it my new favourite IKEA. read more

IKEAs are similar throughout, but this IKEA has been remodeled and looking good! The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bistro located inside the store is kind of in the way and makes for crazy walking traffic and could have been avoided if designed slightly different. The parking situation is also a bit hectic, but then again I think that's true for all IKEAs. Everything else is great. Well organized, large selection of current stock, and pretty friendly service. It's also located near several Utrecht stores so it's pretty convenient. Recommended. read more

The location is quite convenient (Bus 7 stops right outside) and there is a lot of parking available. The Utrecht IKEA is the biggest one I've seen. The layout is typical but the dining area is quite large and new. The services (transport, etc) are pretty efficient. I went on a Friday afternoon (~5 pm) and got my furniture delivered three hours later! read more

Never had problems with these guys before but - at THIS IKEA - Cashier "forgets" to charge the delivery charge - so my Sofa DOES NOT GET DELIVERED (after we waited all night for it). NOBODY Catches THEIR MISTAKE until I do - Then I HAVE TO GO BACK to get them to fix THEIR problem (They are not capable of fixing ANYTHING on the phone?). Once I arrive - The man apologizes - and OFFERS TO GIVE ME FREE ASSEMBLY on the sofa bed. (I said NO - I MUST have it assembled I WANT TO PAY FOR IT) He REFUSES - then the delivery comes and GUESS WHAT? NO ASSEMBLY was SCHEDULED. The delivery people and cashier DID NOT CARE. Left in 2 seconds... NOW - I Just spent to ANOTHER PERSON who seems NOT TO CARE - Then spent 25 minutes ON HOLD to speak to a supervisor. GUESS WHAT? THE PHONE DISCONNECTS. SORRY IKEA - Your customer service is unacceptable. #1 Reason why a customer quits a company? They perceive an attitude of Indifference... You need some people who CARE. read more
