I had a few hours to kill after visiting Bletchley Park with friends. This location is multi-level, has a similar look and feel to the food court as US-based IKEA, and offers many if not the same merchandise as US-based IKEA. I noticed their restrooms are better maintained and pretty clean. If I ever move to the UK-area, this IKEA would be my favorite spot to window shop, grab a snack, and relax. read more

Don't take this as a knock of the store itself - it is vast, and full of all those things-you-didn't-know-you-needed-until-you-saw-them, at reasonable prices. well.. perhaps it's becaused im not used to IKEA in the UK. I'm from Germany and over there IKEA is a lot different To start this IKEA is really tiny! I mean they have all the stuff you need, like kitchen, bathroom or any other stuff. But they don't have as much of each area as I thought they would. You can get a lot stuff there but not all. Most IKEAs I know from Germany are at least twice the size of this one. Further I don't know if it's normal at IKEA in the UK that the food ist horrible? In Germany there are people who only drive to IKEA to eat there. Their Hot Dogs are well known. In the Milton Keynes IKEA you get a piece of shit! The Hot Dog itself was cold, they didn't have the Sauces I know but just Ketchup and something what..well..what exactly did it taste like?...I can't tell, but it made my stomach hurt. No gherkins (is this the right english word?) no roasted onions..I don't know what other IKEAs in the UK are like, but for me this was strange. In Germany you have all of this plus more Sauces to choose from. Also all the Refill-Drinks you could get weren't carbonated at all..Bad for a Coke, isn't it? I was really disappointed about the way the restaurant and food-shop works in this IKEA. As I said before the rest ist okay. Like you know it from every other IKEA. Can't compare the size to other UK-IKEAs, but if you we're to an IKEA in Germany once you'll find this one rather small Well next time I'm gonna eat somewhere else ;-) read more

A good example of an Ikea store, & not as busy as others I've visited. Minutes from the A5 & approx 15 mins from the M1 junctions 13 & 14. All Ikea stores are the same, so if you've already visited one before, then there'll be no surprises. There's a creche on entrance where you can leave your child for up to an hour (there's an electronic tag system whereby they signal you when your child's time is up). As it's not as busy as other branches I've used previously (Wembley & B'ham) stocks always seem to be good, & other factors such as parking, ease of moving around the store seem much better. I would recommend this branch over the other two for these reasons. Don't eat before you go - the cafe is exceptional value (hot dog 50p, fish & chips £2). read more

If you've been in an ikea anywhere in the country, then you've probably got a fair idea what this store is like. Simply put ikea keep their layouts pretty much the same through all their stores. It's good in that compared to many there is excellent parking, and they do have a very decent cafe here. Personally I love a trip to ikea, but I'd say it's one of those shops where you definately want to wear a watch as the lack of windows does make it hard to keep track of time otherwise. The range they sell here is brill - don't go judging the store by their website for goodness sake! - the stores have all the stuff that's on the web, plus loads more like rugs and nick nacks, pots, plants, all manner of bits and bobs for kitchen, bathroom and every other room in the house. One thing I really love is that the prices are very low compared to most shops, whether you're after a sofa, a dining table, or just some new tupperware, it's almost always decent quality at low prices. About the only thing that I struggle with is that there's rarely any staff around to help when you need them. I use a wheelchair and often we need help getting large items from the racks where you collect them down to the tills and it can be hard to find someone to help. If it weren't for this, I'd have given this place a full 5 stars! read more

Ikea stores are no doubt the same the world over - but this is the one closest to me, and the one that we visit on a regular basis. The great thing about Ikea is that it's not just a furniture/ home wares store - it's a day out. From the huge car parks to the children's facilities and the restaurants, it has everything you need to spend a comforable day out and about with the family. The main range of furniture doesn't change throughout the year, so if you move or redecorate then you can be sure of finding something to fit your decor without breaking the budget. Getting it home is usually the tricker bit - if it doesn't fit in the car then you can pay to have it delivered. The bits and pieces scattered throughout the store, and in the marketplace area, are the bits that change regularly and make for a fun shopping experience. They sell home and kitchen wares, candles and artwork, toys and garden items (and now things for pets too), so it's hard to come away with an empty trolley. And that's before you get to the Swedish store on the way out and start stocking up on Swedish meatballs and biscuits. During school holidays there are often fun activities for kids - face painting, etc, and there's a ball park they can play in if you're doing some serious shopping. The main problem with Ikea is its popularity - it can be horrendously busy during peak shopping times. And although the restaurant serves a good lunch over a long period, it's best not to eat when it's busy if you want your food to be fresh and tasty. A late lunch can be a bit chewy after sitting out on the counter for a while. read more

I love my Ikea. I often visit with my husband and daughter when we need to pick up house items from soft furnishing, to furniture to kitchen items and we'll be getting our new kitchen from them too! The restaurant area is fantastic value for money - their breakfasts are fab. Its really child and baby friendly and you can even pop your little ones under 10 into the free child play area for up to an hour so you can either shop in peace or visit with other moms! read more

This is the best place for hot dogs ever. Of course they do other things, but make sure you get one of thier super cheap and but super nice hot dogs and have loads of their yummy mustard. Mmmm. Anyway the shop itself is all very cheap and very big and very amazing. If you are doing any decorating or fancy a new table or chair visit here first. Everything is very modern looking and it is all sturdy and will last. Plus they sell very cheap fabric if you are into making things like I am. I often go here just for a visit because there is so much to see. Plus if you get an Ikea family card you can have free tea and coffee - bonus! read more

Ikea is good for buying all things for your house. I especially like the market place as you get lots of bits to look through. It is a large store to look all the way through if you have any problems walking, but they do have a few wheelchairs you can use. Once you get used to visiting this store you will become familiar with the shortcuts through departments so that you don't have to trail all around the store. The parking is plentiful with lots of disabled parking spaces available right next to the entrances. To reach the higher levels you can use the stairs, escalators or the lift. One of the things I like at Ikea is the material it is always bright and cheery. But a warning it does shrink, there is a warning about this on the label when you buy it. read more

Some places can be too busy and this place is swarming. For every shopper there are four gapping spectators tagging along with them. How is anyone supposed to actually select furniture? The thing that really bugs me is having selected the perfect piece of furniture and trotted through the maze downstairs to the warehouse, finding that there are none on the shelf. The cafe was the redeeming feature, it's cheap and while offering little in the way of choice it managed to feed a fussy vegetarian. read more

Like most Ikeas in the UK if you think you'll need to visit, mid-week is the best time as it's pretty quiet. It's best to park in the underground part of the carpark (just keep following the road over the little roundabout rather than turn right) as it's easier to get in and out from there and of course it's covered if it's raining. I don't think the shop content is any better or worse than other Ikeas. The staff are friendly unlike Wembley Park. The restaurant's quite well laid out although the food's rather hit and miss. We were there on a Monday evening last week, not particularly late, around 6pm, and the pasta was drying up and the free fruit for children looked rather manky. Make sure you've got a Family card. It gives you discounts on certain products in the store and in the restaurant and it also tracks how often and how much you spend in IKEA so every now and then this means you'll get a voucher for £xx amount off £xx spend. Plus if you have the card you get free tea and coffee in the week (plus re-fills are free). read more

Every Ikea store I've been to is a very big store and shopping within it is almost like planning a major expedition. Boots, flask, map, torch right I going in to try and reach the light bulbs and I may be some time!! They must realise that it is a major expedition because they have food on offer half way round (the meatballs are delicious though!) But it is a brilliant store and I wonder how they can do things so cheaply. The flat pack furniture actually lasts when you put it together and all those little extras for your kitchen and home are very cheap and very practical. This Ikea is big, so plenty of room to have a wander around and for no one to be in your way. I always end up picking up if nothing else some new glasses or gadgets for the kitchern. There is plenty of parking out the front and round the side of IKEA. It is right next door to a ASDA Superstore so your close enough to go to both at the same time. The few times that i have been there i have never had to queue as there are plenty of tills open. As you go through you can buy food, drink to take or sit and have a coffee. We went to IKEA in Milton Keynes for the kitchen planning service as it was recommended by a friend & I struggled a bit with the online version at home. Our kitchen planner, Oscar was fantastic & exceeded our expectations. He was friendly & patient and paid great attention to detail, and gave us some great ideas and tips for our kitchen. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ikea's kitchen planning service to anyone considering a new kitchen- they had some lovely finishes & were a fraction of the price we expected. It differs from other stores in the country as it is split over three levels and so seems more compact. It is my local store so I now favour this one over others for sheer convenience. This is a massive branch of IKEA and I seem to come in here quite often to pick up various bits and bobs. Their range is excellent, their cafe is incredibly cheap, their prices are low, and in my experience the staff are excellent and really go out of their way to be helpful. There is plenty of parking and it's all easy to get around, with two spacious lifts and even a childcare centre. Good stuff. read more

There's not much to say about this location that hasn't already been said. Good sized location, nice layout - I find the mixed floors really helps. I find this one a bit easier to cheat your way through than others - i.e. when you need to get somewhere and don't want to traipse around the entire store in order. The staff are friendly, and their delivery service is good. The surcharge for credit cards is a bit annoying, but I appreciate their attempts to lower their prices as much as possible. If you're planning to get something big delivered then be warned, if they have to hold onto it they will charge you. They prefer next day or that day delivery. Have yet to be asked to wait more than a day for a delivery. Queues do tend to be long, but I've also found their cashiers to be quick and good natured about it. Oh, and pick up a Family card. You get points - money off vouchers, and free coffee and tea. Plus there are some items that are cheaper for friends and family. And it's free to join. Don't really see why you wouldn't. read more

The store is ...well... Ikea! it takes you round and round a million miles unless you know the short cuts. The thing that sets it apart though it its food - its bloody awful. Yesterday I braved the chickpea biryani, ok it was relatively cheap but tasteless and watery and not hot in temperature as was my wife's meat balls and chips. mmmm do they know that hot food should be served hot, maybe they need to check temperatures of their equipment. The delivery service is worse than useless. We ordered next-day delivery and actually expected to get that. We called IKEA after the delivery slot passed (and probably waited at least 15 minutes in a phone queue) and were told that the store had decided to change our delivery slot without telling us(!). Completely unbelievable! To make matters worse this order contained the bed we were supposed to sleep on that night. Customer service wasn't very helpful and could only offer to deliver the furniture two days later than the agreed delivery slot. I probably doesn't come as a surprised that that delivery slot has now come and gone. We're still trying to call IKEA customer service, but after about 25 minutes listening to random pop from the 70s, we still haven't been able to contact them. Seems like IKEA UK is just a joke; a very bad one. read more

barcode receipt number - 018500020006011115 bought large wall mirror - came home opened it and there were black stains - some glass defects or something. Emailed ikea but of course no response- so have to bring it back. Took me hours to drive back to the store. I've never ever seen anything like that at all - but to see it on ikea product was surprise. Will never ever buy things from ikea any more - total waste of time and money will look somewhere else. read more
