Yesterday, was just on the phone with a representative regarding a shipment from Ikea Furuset. He was extremely unhelpful and rude. I had waited all morning for the delivery at my apartment, my name is on the bell outside, around 12:30 I went downstairs to find a notice saying they had attempted delivery at 12:05 and I was not home. They had an incorrect telephone number for me - but I was home. They said I had to come by and pick up the shipment myself or pay for redelivery. I do not expect to have to pay for delivery if I was there to receive shipment and they failed to do something as simple as ring my doorbell. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told there was none, and he couldn't give out the supervisors phone number. I am appalled at the terrible quality of this service, and can't believe I'm being asked to pay MORE money to make up for their mistakes.
So then I talked to IKEA, and they were going to try and combine that shipment with another item I was receiving yesterday that had gone out of stock after I ordered it. This did not happen; only the item that had been out-of-stock was delivered. The delivery personnel refused to bring it up to my apartment, even though I'd paid for delivery inside my door, because they said they did not have a good place to park and the distance to my building was 100 meters (I checked on Google Maps - it's 60m - going around the corner to the elevator, maybe 65. I'll even give them 70 - but it isn't 100). Pressed on both those issues, they said they didn't have time to bring it to my apartment, because they had other customers that night, and that Bring would refund the difference between bringing it to my apartment and leaving it curbside.
So now theoretically they owe me money (I'm sure that'll be easy to get) but they want me to pay more to deliver the item they've failed to get to me. Just great. read more
