We went in for online pickup, we requested assistance before as my wife is 9 months pregnant and I have back issues. We were getting a large bookshelf so I knew I would need help getting it in the car even if my back was 100%. When the lady brought it out she just left it at the curb and started to walk away. I asked she help me load it as my wife is pregnant and her response was "what do you want me to do about it" I asked her if she could get someone to help me and she told me I could get it on my own while saying some other rude things. IKEA has always been my favorite furniture store. Most of my current furniture I did purchase from IKEA many years ago, and still have it to this day. I went to this IKEA with my best friend and his husband to browse and they were looking for furniture for their new house as well. The store has gotten bigger and better selection of the furniture since I was last here. IKEA has always had high quality products and high value, and they have out done themselves in expanding to other types of furniture. My best friend did find several types of furniture that they liked and will consider purchasing for his new home. The swedish meatballs in the cafeteria are my favorite and are always the highlight of my day when I go to IKEA. The service is Ok, but I have noticed it has been lacking in professionalism several times, but not to the point where I do not want to come back to IKEA. Once you grab a tray, there are plenty of salads, fish, meat, vegetarian, vegan and GF options. There are also desserts that feature Swedish cuisine. There is a drink dispensing machine that includes coffees, teas, sodas, and a sparkling water machine with a variety of flavored waters. There is plenty of window seating in the cafe, overlooking the Atlantic Station area. There is also a separate section for working and laptops that is located further in the back. Online ordering was incredibly simple using the IKEA app. I was able to explore "rooms" within the app to create my design. The ease of sitting at home measuring my kitchen and creating my design made the process very simple. I was a little worried after placing my order because for the longest time, "preparing your order" was the status during the fulfillment process. However, IKEA sent me an email stating "This email is confirming your order, however, don't start your car just yet! You will receive a second email when your order is ready for pick-up". The email also stated that some of their processes have changed making me feel comfortable that my items were most likely in stock. I was given a time slot for next day pickup and like clockwork, the second email came just before my given time slot indicating that my order was ready. Once my order was complete and ready for pick up, the second email clearly stated how, when and where I could pick up my order. When I arrived, the Atlanta Ikea signage was very clear so I was quickly able to locate the pick up area and signed into the app. Within five minutes, the friendly Ikea employee brought out my items and to my delight, everything was in stock and my order was complete. One suggestion I have is that you order a GORSNYGG IKEA shopping bag ($2.99) to place your purchased items into because Ikea does not bag your order. My items were all placed into the basket and had I not purchased the bag, it would have been quite a disaster in my trunk for the hour ride home. Happily, because I did purchase a shopping bag, I was able to organize them, place them into my shopping bag, and then into my car. As I continue to remodel and decorate my home, I will continue to take advantage of the in-app ordering process. I will be placing many orders over the next few months. read more

I came here early on a Monday afternoon just to browse and see if the cafe upstairs was open. Parking in the large parking structure was plentiful. In fact, most of the customers parked in the parking lot outside, so the parking structure had this desolate, lifeless and empty feel. Parking in the parking garage allowed me to park close to the lower store entrances and find my car quickly upon exiting. I took the large elevator from the parking level to the store's first floor; the elevator was so large that it was easy to socially distance from others (if there were actually others to socially distance from). Exited from the elevator and headed to the escalator leading up to the second floor. At the base of the escalator was an employee available to answer questions from lost customers, and hand sanitizer and wipes were available for customers. While I was still on the escalator, my stomach decided to take the lead, so I immediately headed to the cafe with the single goal of getting the meatballs meal for lunch. The cafe dining area is huge and spacious, and it looks even bigger now that a lot of tables were removed, making social distancing easy while still allowing a lot of customers to eat in there at the same time. The cafe is still cafeteria style, where customers stand in a line (customers are responsible for social distancing) after taking a tray, and select their own plastic covered desserts, contained/sealed drinks, then tell the employee at the hot food serving line what entree/meal they'd like to be served. The employees are very quick and efficient, and did a great job getting customers through the serving line and to the register quickly. Plexiglass barriers, face masks and gloves shield the food employees and the employee staffing the cash register from customers. The employee at the cash register provides packets containing plastic utensils, a napkin and salt and pepper packets while accepting your payment. I hadn't had the Swedish meatballs meal, which included 8 small meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli and lingonberry sauce. It was very inexpensive and filling, and tasted good, and I even got $2 more knocked off from the cost of the meal since I'm a "Ikea Family" member. Ikea does a fantastic job with cleaning in the cafe area. The cleaning ladies wipe down all of the tables and chairs after customers are done using them, and, as a visual to let everyone know where the clean tables are, they either tip the chairs forward (resting them on the table), or pick up the chairs with arms and rest the chairs onto the tables by the arms of the chairs. Nice system there! I enjoyed my food while taking in the nice sights of the surrounding area and the sunlight flooding through the clear floor to ceiling windows. With a content stomach, I took my time browsing through the maize of showrooms on both levels of this huge warehouse store, although I was looking more for bedroom and entryway furniture and things for the kitchen. Walking through the furniture areas reminded me that most of the stuff sold here are "Monets," things that look great from far away but the flaws start showing more and more the closer you get to them. I saw so many pieces of furniture that looked great, but realized how cheaply made they were once I got my hands on them and took a really close look. There were a few reasonably priced high quality pieces of furniture that would last longer than a year, but most of the items looked like they wouldn't last very long under normal wear and tear. The overwhelming majority of the showroom furniture displayed tags that stated that they were temporarily out of stock. After noticing this trend, I stopped looking for furniture. Houseware items looked a lot more long lasting at inexpensive prices. In the end, though, I didn't find anything that I really needed at this time. Throughout the store, I noticed that many of the showroom shelves on the first floor (where customers can pull merchandise from) looked very sparsely stocked, and many items didn't have the one price tag displaying the price in that area. There were also incorrect tags (incorrect item name or description), so I'm sure that will cause a lot of confusion and disappointment. All employees wore face masks. Most customers wore face masks. Many employees could be found throughout the store, but I noticed that none of them proactively asked customers if they needed any assistance. Customers can move their vehicles to the loading zone if they need to load large items into their cars/trucks. Overall, though, Ikea provides inexpensive prices for mostly cheaply made items. Most of the time you will get what you pay for, so buyer beware. read more

I have had both good and bad experiences at this place but I'm sharing my latest experience from this weekend. I skip the showroom because I'm a woman on a mission and come here with a list of things I need. During this trip, I got some plants (in my opinion, their plant quality is a hit or miss but they had tons of options if you go early Saturday morning. Depending on the plant, but some are pricey and you can get cheaper plants at a nursery or even Trader Joe's) and outdoor furniture. Everything was easy breezy from the moment I walked through the door to checking out. They also have a self serve kiosk at the cafe and of course had to get a cinnamon roll. read more

I went on a quiet weekday night,close to closing. I'm an Ikea family member, which I highly suggest to anyone because it's free and you get 5% off plus other deals. Ikea is like Target where you'll walk around and always find something you want/need. I came to redeem by $10 off birthday reward and free frozen yogurt. Well, their froyo machine has been down so they offer you something comparable like a cinnamon bun or hot dog. Because it was 800pm they only had hotdogs left, I got nothing. I went straight to the market place to brows. A few items I really wanted were displayed but sold out. They have a new line of items that include bags, slippers, etc that are all black that were sold out. You can't buy displays until items are discontinued. They have made the "As-is" section bigger and more organized. It includes big bags of mystery items for $15. I got 2! Pictured is what was in them. They were definitely worth it. The store was pretty empty but I was able to find staff to answer questions. More merchandise than usual was sold out , which may just be a sign of the times. Ikea cafeteria ... I needed a quick bite, knew the food was cheap here and I'd always been curious about their Swedish meatballs -- so I got the kid's meal ... dirt cheap at $2.49 and actually a decent size meal to give me added energy to walk the Ikea maze. Meal included 4 meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables and lingonberry jam which I thought was random until I read the jam was a dipping sauce for the meatballs. The food isn't that bad (well it kinda reminded me of airplane food) ... but come on, it's $2.49 and actually pretty good comfort food. Adult version is $4.99. Next time I'd like to try the smoked salmon with spinach ... looked good in the display case and only $4.99! From the other reviews, looks like I need to check out the breakfast too! Ikea the store is a maze and they don't make it easy to find the shortcuts -- I find it a great spot for getting your steps in :) I just like looking around. FYI plenty of parking spaces in the garage. They also have "family-friendly" parking spaces at the front of the store with signage marked with strollers as a subtle hint the spaces are for families with babies & toddlers. read more

This is a review of the IKEA cafeteria. On Friday April 5, 2024 my wife and I, and our two kids, visited the IKEA in Midtown Atlanta to get some lunch and look for a desk. We reached the cafeteria area at noon sharp. There were 8-10 people in line in front of us. There was a single woman serving customers their lunch plates. She was working very diligently and with a smile, and did not hesitate once to take care of customers. She quickly ran to and from the ovens to replenish the food she was serving. This lady was a rock star, but she could not keep up with the onslaught of hungry customers alone. Meanwhile, we watched another woman moving sloth-like in back, slowly preparing salads that they didn't need at the moment (there were already several salads in the self-serve counter), while 2-3 other women were standing around the stations where you return dirty dishes and silverware, acting like they were off duty. And a single cashier sat idle at the register, waiting for customers to come away from the serving counter to pay for their meals. Still another woman walked back and forth from one of the return stations to the cashier--not to help, but to make social calls. It took us more than twenty minutes to get our food, and when we reached the silverware counter there were no forks. I got the attention of the woman making salads and told her we needed forks. She responded, slothlike, "well we gon get someone to get some more." And then she went back to making her salads, slothlike. So I got the attention of another woman, who went behind the counter and told one of the men working there, and he got forks and put out on the silverware counter. We sat down and ate our meals. I had their signature meatball plate, my wife had their salmon plate, and our kids also had salmon and salad. The meatballs were room temperature and "slimy", and my wife's salmon was dry and overcooked. The vegetables were bland, as were the mashed potatoes. Only the salads were acceptable. We watched as people lined up for lunch and the line grew, extending farther and farther into the store, while that sole woman at the serving counter continued to serve customers diligently and the 6-8 other people "working" in the area sat idle or did their tasks instead of coming to help that person. When we put our dirty dishes in the return station we saw that there were already dozens of trays and plates sitting there. The sloths standing by the stations earlier weren't doing a thing to move these items back to the kitchen, and keep the area clean and moving to ensure clean plates and silverware for new customers. Earlier when we were paying for our meals, the worker who came to make social calls to our cashier said that their manager was in a meeting. At noon, on a Friday. Since COVID we've all seen places short-handed and in many cases this is a real problem. That is NOT the problem here. The problem here is one of management and leadership, and hiring people who have no respect for leadership, for customers, for anyone besides their self. If I were the manager of the cafeteria here I would fire everyone there but the one woman who actually did her job, hire a new group of people and set the expectation that EVERYONE owns the success of the cafeteria, and sitting around at your station while another people is working themselves to death just because it's "not my job" is a reason for termination. read more

I have been shopping here a few times over the last decade. It has been a consistently good experience every time. So for ikea in general there is a showroom where the furniture and accessories are displayed. The bigger items have tags with a location in the warehouse, and the smaller items can be picked up there or in the marketplace. One you get your items you get corralled into several lines for checkout. It seems no matter when you go they are busy. There is also a restaurant,but I've never been. The furniture looks really nice, and is easy for the average person to assemble. It doesn't hold up to anything above light wear in my experience. This location is filled with mostly helpful people and always clean despite the crowds. I'd say go once and see if you like it. read more

This is a review of the IKEA Cafeteria. You can find the IKEA cafeteria on the second floor - it's usually quite busy so if you have your heart set on trying the food you may want to refrain and wait for a slow weekday evening. Like the rest of the Atlanta IKEA, the cafeteria gets quite packed. There's a line where you can purchase various combination plates and a few a la carte items - generally the plates are a better deal. Join the IKEA Friends and Family and you get discounts on at least one of the combinations every day - there are some other perks like free coffee. The food isn't the best I've ever had - it's mostly prepackaged like frozen chicken fingers (pre-fried then baked I believe) and frozen cut vegetables that are steamed or boiled. They will occasionally surprise me and have something that's fresher. The salads aren't very robust but at least the ingredients are fresh. Of course everyone's favorites are the meatballs - you can get Chicken or Swedish style - not much difference in the calorie count - with a side of the veggies and mashed potatoes about $5. They usually have a similar salmon plate for about $7. Depending on the time of day they also have breakfast side orders of breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacn, eggs and chicken (these are all less than $2 each). They also have the salads mentioned and some desserts that are kind of interesting. The food in general is very simple. Once you gather everything up there's usually two checkout lines open - but it never fails that someone will hold up the line. Just expect it to happen and you'll be fine. The cashiers and people behind the counter seem to be local food service people so they can be a little gruff - once again it's all about the expectation and how well you manage your own. read more

Click and collect not working item look up kiosks not showing aisle info. Items do not have aisle tags on them ... website says they have 11 of what I'm looking for. Who knows WHERE those are and if I found them, I'm not standing in line with 50-60 of my new best friends for an hour. Nope with a side of nope sauce. Delivery is a month out. And no. Now on-line retailers without the huge investment in teal estate and staff are disrupting IKEA. Check this out: We've just moved and need some furniture to fit the new house. We blast over to Atlantic Station, find a chair and a tv stand that will work. And while we're there we grab one of those great Swedish lunches. And then it starts. They have the frame for the chair, but not the upholstery. 'We can order it for you. You can pick it up here or pay $49 for delivery.' We buy the tv stand but have to fetch it at furniture pickup. 'Just look for your order number on the monitor.' The monitor says it will be ready in 20 minutes -- at 2:30. At 3:00 -- 50 minutes later -- the sole guy in furniture pick up brings it out. No wonder your on line competition is doing so well. The advantage of shopping in the store is to actually try out the furniture and then take it home. But a 50 minute delay? Really? Time to hire some more staff, Mr. IKEA, if you want to hold your market share. We've had better service with on-line furniture stores. I'll miss the gravlaks. read more

One has to love IKEA for what it is...low priced furniture that looks sleek. IKEA Atlanta remains relatively clean on the regular and its really easy to navigate. Tip: Pay attention to the arrows that guide you through the showroom to get to checkout. As a first time IKEA (actual) shopper (meaning I hadnt tried to purchase anything on my previous visits), I was a bit confused about how to checkout with the furniture I wanted from the showroom. Tip: Easiest method I found was taking a picture of the showroom ticket and using that information to find the item in the marketplace. After the miles of walking (so it seemed), we made it to the marketplace. It was easy enough to find the items. The aisles were numbered well. I will say that my item was sold out and I have to go back on July 31st to find the item. Checkout was a zoo. So if you aren't a patient person, take your patient pill before checking out with your items. Not sure of what takes so long, but they should probably move to an ipad checkout system to facilitate checkout. read more

This store has gone downhill in the last few years. Only 2 or 3 checkout lanes open on a Saturday, the line for each was 20-30 people deep. If you're not purchasing anything you can't exit easily, you must go thru a checkout lane that is open and that's a battle in and of it self. Never mind the tight aisles, the hundreds of people crammed in here and running around like an ant hill that got stepped on and carts that would make you lose a field sobriety test sober--little Billy needs to stretch those little legs out! Dont get me wrong, I love Ikea. Their cafe has the best cheap eats. Join the Ikea family card program (free) and you qualify for .99 cent breakfast platters on select days. Grilled salmon, cobb salads, even chocolate cakes but the main food item you need to try is their meatballs! Swedish meatballs with brown gravy. Add a side of mashed potatoes and mac n cheese and walk off those carbs with Billy! You can easily lose track of time in this place. The second floor has home lay outs in various square footage footpaths that provides great decor ideas. The first floor is where all the items that were displayed on the second floor are for sale and then some! Everything you need for your home is sold here. The only draw back is with all the people and the tight quarters, I wish Ikea had less items on display. Everything is stacked like a game of Jenga. It can make for an overwhelming shopping experience. Come for the cinnamon rolls, .49 ice cream cones, cheap furniture that has a shorter shelf life than milk and stay to witness Billy's steps while your own blood pressure rises. Viva Ikea! read more

I swear. Since COVID, this location's customer service has gone to . None of the associates or managers are ever on the same page. They often speak before attempting to find the correct answer(s) and mostly, their picking service inside their store is worthless and the 3rd party delivery service they use (Pilot) is horrible. I have way to many incidents to name since Jan. 2021 but here is the most recent one. Yesterday, I went to exchange an item but also, followed up my last visit and chat with a manager on (Nov. 5) to begin a mattress warranty claim. My current one (purchased Jan. 2021) has a sinkhole in it. The young lady that was helping me was obviously new and I'll equip to assist me. So, we asked her co-worker who repeated the same bad info but, with an attitude. I asked her to get the MOD, she walks off saying "I don't know whY she don't understand." Manager approaches, I tell him about the girl's bad attitude and how unprofessional she was (loudly) and yes, I pointed tight at her so she knows who I'm talking about. She then try's to walk up on me as if she was ready to loose her job. The manager listens to me. Processes a claim for pick up of my damaged mattress and drop off of a new one for today between 9a-1p. No one called or showed. I called ikea customer service and was transferred to the escalation dept. She looked up my case and saw that the mattress was never pulled from their warehouse therefore, Pilot had nothing to deliver. It took her 1 hr to get a representative on the phone from the ATL store. She couldn't adjust/change my delivery but spoke with a manager and she promised if receive a call within an hour. No one called. I called the number & extension the manager gave me yesterday and spoke with a young lady who go say the reason why the delivery didn't happen today was because they were out of stock. This is a lie. It was confirmed by the manager (I saw the number of units in their system and, he walked me over to the self service location where the mattress were. There were 68 available yesterday before I left. She then tells me that they now have 8 and rescheduled my delivery for tomorrow between 9a-1p. If I do not receive my mattress tomorrow, I will be heading to the store for a full refund so I can purchase a mattress from a reputable store. I also removed the mattress from my bed frame and wrapped it in a mattress bag per the store manager. It is propped up in my hallway. I am sleep on my couch and I am just pissed with this entire ing process. The staff at the ATL location should be ashamed of how poorly their customer service is and that they actually lied today about the stock of the item. What a complete waste of time. Drove 45 mins to this IKEA location. I was thrilled when I found out the desk that I wanted was in stock. Picked up the pieces with the exception of the top. I was instructed that the top was "full service" and I would get that from furniture pick up. Paid for my order and went to furniture pick up and waited. And waited. Got the text message that my order was ready for pick-up (finally). Made my way to the pick up area to be informed by an unapologetic staff member that they were sold out of the top and I would get a refund. Seriously?! read more

Please IKEA work in your pick up department. I visited IKEA Saturday to find a new storage cabinet that can adhere to the wall. I was quoted 29 minutes and told I will receive a text when ready. It took me at least 10 mins to check out. I waited another 15 mins in my car before deciding to go to pick up. When I got to pick up, there was a long line and the pickup employees were in no rush. It took me another 20 mins to receive my product and it was a bit chaotic with people jumping in line. I received my text to report to pickup, seemingly 19 minutes up the interstate. To me, this is the main area IKEA needs work. Other than the need for more up to date products. read more

I don't think there is anything bad I can say about Ikea. I normally try to arrive around 10:30 or 11am then grab lunch at the food court (meatballs are my favs!!) and then finish my shopping and get out of the area before rush hour starts. Our bedroom set is from Ikea and we love it. My pantry and garage is definitely organized with different shelves and bins from Ikea, they are not overly priced, easy to assemble, and very useful. My office is also furnished with desk and bookshelves that fits my liking. The glass tupperware that they sell is amazing! I have all shapes and sizes!! Every furniture and storage piece that we have purchased, we have been using for years and they are all still in excellent condition and holding up well. Definitely love just going there to browse sometime. read more

Somehow during Ga Tech move-in weekend the management thinks it's okay to close checkout lanes early. We're down to 5 out of 25 lanes being open. There's at least 100-200 people in line still. Order. On.line. About 5 mins after posting this review, the loud speaker said "there's a code 44 at the cash lanes" this is likely code for "we shouldn't have let cashiers close their lanes when the line is 50-200 times the number of cashiers. Personal opinion, the manager should be fired. Employees were friendly, just. Too. Few. College move-in weekends are definitely known to IKEA. Final update. 1 hour after getting in line, we are now checked out. There's 7 lanes open & about 100 people still in line to checkout. Wow. read more

We came here for some lighting and other ideas and left seriously disappointed. Apparently, ALL Ikea merchandise is tied up in those cargo ships sitting out on dock ports and in the ocean still. There are some seriously bare shelves here. I don't see many retailers staying in business for much longer if they have no merchandise to sell to customers. So, we got hungry and went for the meatballs, because let's face it, that's what you eat here that they're famous for. They were delicious as usual and the French fries were amazingly delicious. But the cleanliness of the chairs and tables was not an important thing apparently to Ikea. I brought my own clorox wipes because I'm OCD like that and I'm glad I did. See the nice gray cloth after just wiping down my seat. Uuuggghhhh...... read more

When I lived in south Florida I loved IKEA. The hot dogs, the blue bags at checkout, all the incredibly inexpensive finds. Hubs and I used to go out of our way just to peruse when we wanted something to do. My experience here could not have been more different. Granted, two years into a pandemic and we have all heard staff shortages and supply chain issues more time than we can count. I ended up moving to GA during the pandemic so I never visited this location before the world changed. Perhaps this is why? To my displeasure, there were hot hot dogs or blue bags - you know those massive ones you probably have stashed in weird places. I use those bags for everything and always buy a few more when I visit. There were major stock issues and everything was really disorganized. This place was also PACKED I could barely breathe in there, let alone move around. Most of what we came for they did not have - despite showing availability online. So the long drive was kind of a bust. I tried ordering some stuff online (and actually paid for shipping for once) and everything came smashed and destroyed. I am heart broken. I might wait to visit my old IKEA when I go back to visit my family in south Florida before giving this one a shot any time soon. Although something tells me all of them may be like this for a while. Definitely visit if you need something, but adjust your expectations if it's been a while since you visited. read more

What can I say about this IKEA that wasn't covered in my review of the New York IKEA? Different IKEA same meatballs. This one does move a little slower than New York but the employees are friendlier. Also, they barely have anything in stock. Seriously they have like 3 desks and 2 queen bedframes and nothing ever seems to get restocked. I know I've been trying for the past 3 weeks. read more
