Ikea's are pretty much the same world over. It's difficult to determine whether you're in the UK, France or Belgium.
But Ikea has a function - that being - emergency homewares. Just moved into a new flat? Find you need some new lights - get on down to Ikea and you'll find those lights in a decent price range from cheap to expensive.
The Ikea in Arlon is in a great location - two seconds off the main motorway and if you're coming from Luxembourg city it will take you no more than 15 - 20 minutes to drive. Plenty of parking, never seems that busy, nice cafe, hot dogs for EUR0.65 on the way out.
They have also introduced some new self-serve checkouts which include most languages (plus English) which speed up the queues.
I have found Ikea prices to be creeping up over the past few years. I'm guessing fuel and general raw materials have increased in price but they're perhaps not as cheap as they once were.
That said, kitchenware, lights, bedding and general 'things you didn't know you needed but actually find quite useful' are still a good price and it's nice to have everything under one roof.
If you're a regular Ikea visitor, I recommend signing up to their Ikea Family card which gives you discounts, special offers and points for free. read more
