I am a disable person with a service dog and service was denied. This is a total discrimination. The so called manager came and interrogated me asking what type of disability i have. Of course I didn't mind telling him and also offered him to show my dogs California service license, he denied and said my service dog was unqualified without looking. I have to defend IHOP, particularly this location which I have been to many times. IHOP is a diner and you should judge it by those standards. It's a family place and the chocolate chip pancakes are truly good (with the whipped cream and extra chips on top). The hash browns are crispy and plentiful. The coffee is just right for diner coffee. Yes, the syrups are artificial but this is what IHOP is about - real food for real people. You shouldn't expect grade A syrup here. The harvest nut and grain pancakes are also very good. They do know their pancakes and that is why there is a line out the door every weekend. read more

Can negative stars be given for a rate? Found a roach frozen within the ice of my beverage, the night shift leader and his staff were lazy, rude, and unprofessional. For example, the service was slow, the night shift leader and his staff gave our table dirty looks even worse blatantly pointed and laughed at us, and finally when leaving after informing the person in charge about the roach, he proceeded to say "I'll take care of it....don't ever come back" overall horrible experience. Corporate should fire this individual and retrain the staff properly. At least enough to appear professional. read more

The fiancé ordered a cheese omelet. My turkey bacon wasn't cooked, one of my pancakes looked like it had been murdered and they hid it under the top pancake. I have been here countless times. Each of which we got excellent service. Especially when the wife and kids had a good time and ate a yummy breakfast. I have to admit their staff seems very coordinated and the occasional mistake has always been handled perfectly. Very pleased of the service, attention, and smile. Efrain, one of the managers, is always very attentive and displays great leadership. I've never seen him needing to step in other then when absolutely needed. However sometimes it's hard to understand the staff because of a language barrier, doesn't mean they aren't friendly and helpful! I've only had one issue out of the 100 times I've been there. My face began to brighten as I saw the numerous offerings of pancakes, eggs, and other breakfast foods. YES! Even as it nears midnight, who doesn't love breakfast? People who suck, that's who. "Are you ready to order?" our server asked. We nodded. My boyfriend ordered some combination of eggs, pancakes, hash browns, and possibly toast. "Brrrraaains..." I croaked. I gasped and quickly tried to recover, hoping no one in the kitchen was packing heat, waiting for their chance to pop a cap in a zombie. "Ahem! Uh, excuse me. I'll have whatever this combination is with eggs, hash browns, and chocolate chip pancakes. Absolutely no brains, of course. Thank you." My family likes to eat here, and what can I say, IHOP knows their pancakes. I'm more of a Denny's kind of guy, myself, but to each their own. On that note, drinks: on my most recent my own choice of drink was a Coke. The server was trying really hard to speak English, and eventually assumed I was asking for Dr. Pepper. I didn't bother arguing. At least it wasn't Diet Coke. I tried the Egg Nog pancakes but they actually brought me out Gingerbread, which was kind of a bit of creative order taking on the part of our server, but he was nice enough to correct the mistake and bring out the right order within a few minutes. That didn't stop them from enjoying a 0% success rate on my order. Shades of my childhood when I went here about 15 years prior and they kept bringing me frozen corn dogs and I cried. We've been to a number of IHOPs, and knew this one was special when we first visited it ten years ago. I think it is the "company culture" or attitude of the staff. They always seem calm, happy (or resigned) and attentive. I don't know, given some of the customers they get at times, if I could keep that up like they do. Like any IHOP it can be busy on weekend mornings, and unfortunately there are no sound barriers so everyone knows when there is a boisterous group there. At a busy time you might have to go out of your way to ask for a to-go box, since they drop the check off early, but it's nice not to have to wait for the check too! Anyway the food is always good, there are healthy options now available on the menu, the store is neat and in order, and they accept special orders with a smile. This place has a line out the door for breakfast every day of the week. Out of curiosity I just had to try it... Inside - it's just another dilapidated breakfast diner. Of course, I had pancakes... They were acceptable. The syrups are kind of crappy - but they have four to choose from - artificial strawberry, artificial blueberry, artificial maple, and artificial butter pecan. I had to settle for their butter pecan syrup which is somewhat tasty. You would think a specialist in pancakes would have REAL maple syrup - even if it had to be an extra on the menu! My kids had the happy face pancakes. They liked them - but the marischino cherry eyes should have been raspberries and the chocolate chips for teeth should have been blueberries - but of course that's much to good for IHOP. The place didn't impress me at all. I fail to understand the line out the door. But who am I to want real maple syrup and real fruit with my breakfast - for that I'd have to pay much more, eh boss. I'm not sure what the deal was today, but we've been to this iHop many times before. The place was busy, in fact lucky we got parking! Anyway, we walk in, are greeted by the hostess- all fine. She bypassed a cleared booth, trying to seat us at an 8 person table. I asked about the booth, mentioning we preferred booth seating due to having a number of back issues. The hostess proceeds to leave us standing in the middle of the walkway, unseated, for what seemed like 5 minutes. Nobody working in the restaurant bothered to ask why we were standing in the walkway waiting. After waiting, the "hostess" came back, telling us the empty booth was "reserved" for someone, that they were in the bathroom at the time. Nope, nobody left the bathroom the whole time we were waiting. We were finally seated in the back near the window overlooking the parking lot. No waitress or waiter ever came to the table to take our order, within the following 15 or so minutes, at all. So, I looked out the window to see 2 people in the lot coming into the restaurant. Guess who the booth was "reserved" for? Yep, those 2. Not anyone in the bathroom. Why lie? We used to go often to this IHOP, we aren't rude or obnoxious, we are always friendly, and leave a good tip. We left without ordering, since not 1 person, including the manager, would assist us. We explained the problem to the manager, all he could say is "What would you like me to do about it?" He said nothing to the hostess either. The customer service, & management at this particular restaurant was completely subpar. Go to the Camarillo IHOP. Much better! read more

Hell nah foo lates, I came with my family and cousins to eat breakfast . I expected it to be very astonishing, instead it was a pretty bad experience. I ordered the banana strawberry pancakes and it sounds good but it wasn't . The pancakes were so mushy and too sweet, pure sugar. I did not enjoy it and it made me feel sick afterwards. The breakfast potato's were excellent , I suggest it as a side . I loved them and everyone else I was with enjoyed their meals , I guess I chose the wrong thing but I do not suggest the banana strawberry strawberry pancakes . IHOP on Victoria is kind of a crap shoot - I've gone there when it was clean, pleasant and the food was actually very good... other times its been very dirty and just not a good experience - from bad food to rude servers. But all-in-all it's pretty much what one can expect now-a-days from a chain restaurant that serves massive portions of mediocre food. They serve huge portions of food and their prices reflect it. I don't particularly care to spend 8-10 dollars on an omelet... but they don't have a "smaller portion size" option and so I usually just share one dish with someone. Who hasn't been to plenty of IHOPs? Chances are you don't need this review for the food, but the location/service/quality. I endorse this IHOP. I came in at about 7:30 AM as I was early for a test nearby and needed to kill time/get my first meal of the day in. Service was fantastic, I got refills on my OJ promptly, and got to sit around for 45 minutes or so without being hassled. Food came fast and was warm and delicious, what else can I say? From the preparation to the quality of food, everything is none different compared to any other IHOP across the globe. The only difference is that this particular location is smaller compared to the norm. The restrooms are decently cleaned regularly and the exterior is always well maintained. They gladly except coupons, but shockingly enough they except other locations coupons and expired coupons (within a reasonable date). Small note about the food, I personally am slightly picky, but any change or alteration is often looked down upon, but they show a lot patience and understanding to others' personal needs. They try to be very accommodating and attentive to your own personal needs, whether your handicapped or not. In addition, whether your a small to large group or bye yourself, it is easy to agree that you will have a very nice time. Some side notes Vicky, Michael, and the Managers are exceptional at doing their jobs and they go out of their way to resolve any issue and make sure you leave happy. HOWEVER on three other visits in the past I was "lucky" enough to have a server named Eli. Yet, he is nowhere near anyones level of expectation. On all three times I had him for a server, I have felt rushed, harassed and unimportant. As soon i sat down I was asked "what do I want to eat and drink" before I was able to look at the menu. I was ignored when I asking for a refill on my beverage. When I first got my initial drink I was asked in an immediate fashion "you ready yet". Overall, I would much rather leave and never come back if it meant he was there or if I had to have him as my server. That is why my I rank this location at 4.
