Food was great and the service was fantastic. My friend and I just got into town to visit another friend that lives here in Bakersfield and we arrived at the crack of dawn, so we decided to go to this IHOP. Our waitress, Kadie, was extremely nice. She was apparently the only server at this ungodly hour, so naturally she was busy tending to the other customers, but was still nice and diligent enough to acknowledge us with a smile and a "I'll be right with you." She hooked us up with some fancy creamer and after our meal, got us waters. Also, we were backpacking across Cali, so my friend's phone was dead, so she threw it on the charger for us. I went to eat breakfast with my family, as soon as I walked in the door the hostess was already in a bad mood, she asked my name and told me the wait will be 30 minutes. Mind you it was late and pretty empty, she just wanted to shoo me away. After, we sat down at the table that was dirty, they came to take our order, after asking for coffee they brought it over filled, and cold plus, the cup was dirty from them not even trying to wash it. After, we got our food, we realized they got my order wrong when I mentioned it to the waitress she said, well it going to be 20 min before we get another plate ready. After, I got my food the waitress did not bother to check on us at all after that till 10 min later when she dropped off the check and knowing I had just received my food. My Experience, was just over all bad. The way the situation would have been better if the people were a little more considerate. Could, have explained my food would take a little longer to get to me and maybe not over pour my coffee as well, on top of that I wish there customer service was a little friendlier, and more considerate at least knowing I come to eat breakfast with my family , trying to enjoy my night. I really hope that, they talk to the staff and have them understand there customer service correctly and have proper manners. Will I return? I will not, at least not to this location, any time soon. read more

We had a really good meal here. It is the usual IHOP menu with yummy pancakes and a good selection of syrup. One thing I like about IHOP is they have really good coffee since I am such a coffee snob. Nice rich smooth roast coffee. I had the French toast which was very good and my husband had the breakfast sampler. His was all cooked perfectly. Hence the plate was clean. Over medium eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. Only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is it is need of a little remodel and maybe can be a little cleaner but the food is good!!! read more

I ended up here on an early Saturday morning - the hotel I was staying at provided breakfast, but it was ALL bread-based....so I walked across the street to IHOP - I have to admit I'd never eaten at one before, and given the alternative, it made sense to check it out. I ordered a sausage and cheese omelet, a glass of OJ, and coffee. The OJ and coffee came immediately...nice! AND the OJ seemed to be real...VERY nice! I then proceeded to actually look at the menu (again, not having been to an IHOP, wanted to see what they offer). I was a bit surprised that they offer a full menu for lunch and dinner as well....one doesn't think of IHOP when one is thinking about dinner...at least in my limited experience. But hey, if it works.... The omelet showed up a bit latter....mushroom and cheese...SO not what I ordered (I'm pretty confident that no matter how badly you stumble on "sausage", it does NOT come up remotely sounding like "mushroom"). But, hey, stuff happens...the waiter apologized, and ran off to the kitchen to fix the problem. The correct omelet showed about a few minutes later - no harm, no foul. So really, walked out of there with two issues: - the omelet was just bland. Beyond belief. BIG, but bland. Even smothering it with Tabasco didn't resolve that issue. This surprised me a bit. - the price was more than a bit high...$20 for the above? Sure, in a Vegas hotel you'll pay way more than that...but this ain't a hotel, and it sure ain't Vegas. And with a Denny's across the way, I would have thought they'd be a bit less. Overall, not a bad breakfast. But not a good one, either....filled the need, and not much else. Not sure I'd go to another one, unless, of course, I'm staying at a hotel that only offers bread-based breakfasts. :-) read more

I just couldent let " clays resturant and -_- dennys beat ihop? Ihop has great sweats. This ihop has great friendly staff! Place always seems to be filled with cops, but ihop still holds the reccord for the best pancake Ive ever tasted- cheesecake pancake & the apple cinomin ones. A little bitt more pricy than dennys but much better quality. I suggest joining there pancake revolution you get free meals and great deals ;) but if you dont like chain resturant breakfast food - it's copes knotty pine you should be at more of a home cooked taste Wtf dennys isen't even an option BARF so gross read more

Good service even on a busy day. Came here for breakfast on Mother's Day and as expected the queue and wait was long. However the best part is that the lady who served us was polite and really friendly. Even though the place was packed our order came on time and was perfect. Will be back soon. read more

I am not from here but came to place an order and I have to say I felt bad for the hostess Daniel . He was at the front taking calls and trying to take orders and help the customers . You can see the customers getting upset and I kinda understand but at the same time I feel like that people need to have more patience during these circumstances. As a retailer associate/supervisor, I can definitely relate to being short staffed . C'mon people have a little patience and understanding! Keep up the great work Daniel and stand in manager Angela . This location is horrible. They are consistently understaffed and they're doing in-person dining during a pandemic when it has been said to be illegal. Don't do a pickup order here. Ordered the Turkey dinner for take out. The mashed potatoes were runny and turkey chunks were tiny. They put the bread in the same container and becomes so soaked with the mashed potatoes unable to pick it up. Took a few bites, unable to eat. The whole thing totally inedible. Straight to the trash. Wow.... stopped by for a late breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns and 2 pancakes. After eating the bacon, hash browns, and 2 bites of scrambled egg. Immediately had to get up and run for the bathroom. Thank goodness I was seated close or I wouldn't have made it. I was feeling fine before and as soon as everything had come up feeling fine. The managers answer was she will loook into it. The server was kind enough to offer that I not pay for the meal. I've worked coffee shops in my younger years. That would have come out of his pocket so I declined. Hopefully the very young manager lady will do as she said and check into it. I would hate for someone else to experience what I did. The food is good but if you have a phone order over $30 they won't make it until you show up to pay for it. I called the other two locations in Bakersfield and this "rule" magically doesn't exist there. So if you have a phone order over $30 just go somewhere else and save yourself the time and aggravation. read more

My family and I just stopped by on our way home from Vegas. It was IHOP or Denny's (which was across the street) and I voted for IHOP. So glad I did! There was no wait on a Friday night, the service was great and the food was delicious. My 10 month old even enjoyed it and he is definitely a hard one to please when it comes to food. We ordered a Spicy Poblano Omelette with a side of Tres Leches Pancakes and a Strawberries & Cream Crepe Combo. The omelettes are huge here so if you have someone to share it with, I recommend it. I liked how the pancakes and the crepes weren't overly sweet. They both hit the spot! Our waitress, Michaela, was friendly and attentive. And all the other workers seemed to enjoy the workplace here which isn't something you see a lot. I'll remember to stop by here if we decide to drive to Vegas again or on our next trip to Disneyland! :) read more

We truly love this IHOP we try to come here every other Tuesday for their tomato soup. Their service is just amazing the waiters always cares about us and make sure that we are comfortable. My daughter always gets a hot chocolate from here and one day their machine was broken but the waiter tried her hardest to fix it and she did and my daughter was able to have her hot chocolate. we truly recommend this IHOP. I give it 4 stars simply because of the host that was there when we went. Our food was great and we sure loved our waitress (Rosie, I believe!) ! But that host was being discriminatory against a latino person who was asking for food. My family told the host we would be paying for his food but showed us attitude about it and refused to sit him down, asking a different worker to go sit him down. Seriously! Why are people still being discriminative!! I sure hope this host (who also looked latino himself!) always has a job and is never in a situation as this poor man was. Let me just say that this poor man was well dressed, good hygiene, nothing about him would make you think he was homeless except for the fact that he was carrying two small amazon boxes with him. So for the host to refuse servicing him even when we told him we would be paying for his food, that's just CRUEL! I would recommend this restaurant. The service was great. Our waitress, Kathryn is an adorable blond, very personable and very efficient. Our food was very good, price was fair. The restaurant itself is ok, nothing special as far as atmosphere goes. But she made up for it & didn't really bother us with chit-chat more than she should have, just got straight to the point! A+ for that! made sure our drinks were filled before we choked on our food & we didn't have to wonder where she disappeared to for very long definitely worth going back when she's there! We left her a $20 tip. However we gave it to her little sister who was also working there & said Katheryn was on break. I hope she got it? I've came here several times in the last few months and figure it's about time to review. We have had average service as to be expected at a place like IHOP... The food is sometimes brought out not hot but not cold. So minus one star. Good breakfast food is all I order here. Mainly the stuffed French toast! Mmmmm Today it was particularly crowded and took awhile to be seated. While sitting there, I overheard a few workers who were saying that Carrows and Cocos down the street have both closed. Explaining why ihop has been really crowded lately. Interesting...... Anyway I'm not too fond of this place but it is what it is. Average food and service. Nothing more expected. I stayed at the Buck Owens Crystal Palace for Thanksgiving weekend. I was convinced to stay there instead of La Quinta Inn which was $10-a-night cheaper and literally a stone's throw away by the enticing thought of a "real country breakfast" that comes free with any room at the Crystal Palace. Unfortunately when I arrived, I was informed that my stash of breakfast tickets would go to waste because they were remodeling the cafeteria--and serving customers a continental breakfast instead of a hot breakfast. One look at the quivering mound of oatmeal that sat out from 7 am on was enough to send me looking. In walking distance from the Crystal Palace there is a Denny's and an IHOP. I would choose Denny's instantly except my dad was also along on this trip and he's been on a Denny's boycott since 1979 when the company was tried for racist practices towards their employees. He would figuratively shoot me, and literally be very disappointed, if he ever knew of my love for Moons Over My Hammy. That said, we ate breakfast at this IHOP thrice. The final day they rolled out a new lineup of pancakes that were holiday themed and I decided to try the Eggnog Pancake Breakfast. There were two eggnog-flavored pancakes glued together by large swirls of eggnog frosting sort of like a chipwich. Next there were drizzles of eggnog icing covering the Nogwich, and that was all topped with copious amounts of whipped cream. I ate about half of the breakfast before I finally admitted to myself how disgusting it was and then I proceeded to enter anaphylactic shock due to the outrageous amount of sugar that had entered my bloodstream at such an early hour in the day. IHOP...wtf were you thinking? Gross especially since pancakes (cake topped with syrup and then furtively disguised as a breakfast food) are sugary enough to begin with. read more

This is your typical IHOP. The food is the same and the seating is the usual. It is average food for a decent price. They do have a really diverse set of menu choices, especially in the pancake department. They partner with Kiwanis International on International Pancake Day to help the Children's Miracle Network and this I can really get with. So good job IHOP! Keep looking out for the kids. We usually go to Golden Ox on Wible for breakfast. I wanted ihop since they have the crepes right now. The visit started off with greasy, sticky menus. Custom orders will cost you a pretty penny. They'll charge you full price even if you don't get everything. Needless to say, the food was not better. Crispy hashbrowns really mean cooked with a full stick of butter. Normally you can't ruin bacon... But they did. I'm sure it's precooked but still, make it appetizing. The server, Miranda, was nice though. read more

I eat here often and always order the same thing, crepe Florentine and have never had a bad breakfast until recently. First of let me say the service was excellent, the restaurant clean, the food cooked well. The problem is the Hollandaise sauce....It was absolutely the worst thing ever...So salty I could have been drinking seawater. it wasnt the right color....really orangish- brown and lumpish.. I was told that the company recently switched suppliers and this is what they have now and they had gotten many complaints about it and they told me to fill out the survey and make sure I put that in there. I didnt notice there was only a three day period to do the survey (and complain) so I thought I would put it out here and warn anyone that might be thinking of ordering it. The employees were wonderful about it, they took the food back, gave me fresh food with the hollandaise on the side (not that i would eat it) and apologized about the food. This post is strictly about the meal...not the employees themselves..Corporate needs to get the heads out of their hinnies and try this stuff before they purchase it! read more

First of all, they get my order wrong, they said they were gonna make a new omelet, but didn't. There was still bits of tomato in it. After eating half of the omelet, I then found a hair in my it. I tried pulling it out, but the hair was too long and too hard to pull out. NEVER AM I EATING HERE AGAIN!!!!
