Another great find in Punta Gorda! What a fun place for adults and kiddos. There are so many different iguanas, snakes and turtles to see. The size of this place and abundance of reptiles is very impressive. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Zoo keepers are very approachable and are happy to answer any questions or offer additional information about their inhabitants. There is a small gift shop and a few snack options but no formal cafe so it's a good idea to pack some water and snacks for the kids if you're planning to go out for lunch in the area. There are plenty of picnic tables in their covered pavilion area. Check out their website for upcoming events!

What a fabulous experience the place is spectacular. Well worth it to pay the extra $15 to have an encounter with the Reptiles

Amazing experience! The animal experience was so awesome, we met (and pet/held) more than 5 different animals! They have very knowledgeable staff, who answered all of our questions and shared their mission of conservation. Highly recommend for all ages!

Soooo fun!! Took grandkids 5 and 8 and they loved it. So many iguanas, snakes and turtle and tortoises. Will def return to this amazing place. Staff was super friendly and one handler let us pet Donkey Kong all we wanted. Super fun day. You kids will love it, and so will the parents and grandparents.

Another successful trip to Iguanaland in the books. My previous trip took me though a monsoon essentially, but my latest experience had gorgeous weather and incredibly friendly staff. Since my last visit, massive expansions to the facility have been seen through, including outdoors areas for snakes, additional iguana enclosures, as well as a few large areas for Sulcata and Galapagos tortoises. The rest of the enclosures are incredibly well kept up, animals very sociable and happy, and the overall grounds being absolutely beautiful. There is currently ongoing construction on additional larger faux-rock enclosures, and it's incredible to see the process in making these. While only my father and myself went in the main facility, my mom, aunt, and grandmother stayed behind at the car. Deciding to walk around the gift shop, they were approached by whom I believe was the owner's wife, excited to show off the facility to my family and even give away some extra plants from the greenhouse that was wrecked during the last hurricane. She even took them to show how good for the reptiles is prepared, as well as showcasing a few herptiles to the bunch. This is exactly the kind of incredible hospitality I have come to life out of a family run facility like Iguanaland. Staff members are happy to greet you, welcome you in, show off certain species and even just make conversation. It's incredible! They have some of the coolest species here I'd you're looking for rarities as well. From my knowledge, I believe they are one of the only public holders of Lesser Antilles Iguana in the United States, pictured below. In addition to that, they have impressive species from Veiled Chameleons, Perenties, Cuban False Chameleons, and even Nile Softshell Turtle. The list goes on! It's so impressive to see how well a species dedicated to reptiles can garner such applause. As I typically focus on mainly zoo's in my travels, this facility stands out as one of my all time favorites. I hope Ty Park and his team are able to further expand this facility to lengths beyond where they are now. They're a gem in Southwest Florida and one I always can recommend going out of your way to experience. Thank you to the incredible staff at Iguanaland!!

I highly recommend taking a VIP tour. We had Joe for thee and a half hours he gave us a tour of their facilities. He took out many reptiles and let our boys pet them. He educated us on each reptile and was very knowledgable! He was very patient with our four year old who must have asked him 100 questions. The boys loved it!! The grounds were very clean and the animals well loved. The owners were there and super friendly as well. Five stars!!!

We had so much fun checking out all the turtles and iguanas! Highly recommend! There was a hurricane the first time we went, and they gave us a rain check to come back. One of the animal caretakers opened up the cage and let us see it out of the cage up close and also we got to see a lot of the larger reptiles being fed. So cool!

Was not expecting what they had in store, lots of turtles and snakes. Beautiful large iguanas, very well kept and fed! They have complimentary free sunscreen for anyone to use, be sure to make a day out of this place!

Excellent attraction for kids, families and groups. Iguanaland just out Punta Gorda is huge, very entertaining and is a good value. Lots and lots of reptiles, turtles, koi fish pond (you can feed them), and friendly staff to answer questions. You can even meet some of the reptiles up close. Dexter the monitor was a great treat. Free parking, clean bathrooms, gift store, this is a well kept secret and will gain in popularity as the word gets out. Walking the grounds you see lots and lots of animals, unique reptiles, snakes and more rare species. The huge tortoises are very cool. Plan for 1 1/2- 2hours, and bring the crew.

Great place very clean and quiet.Great for a family..Animals look like they love their life..Just need a hot dog cart..lol

We took our time wandering the pathways, admiring the beautiful habitats thoughtfully designed for each species. There's a strong focus on birds, and the variety here is impressive -- vibrant parrots, graceful flamingos, and so many unique feathered residents. Just as we made it to the final exhibit with the crocodiles, an announcement came over the speakers warning of lightning in the area. Guests were directed back to the gift shop for safety, and the staff began offering rain checks or refunds depending on when you arrived. We didn't inquire about either, though -- we had already thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and since the Wonder Gardens is a nonprofit organization, we were happy to support them regardless. Before leaving, we browsed the gift shop, which had a fantastic selection of animal-themed souvenirs, cute décor, and even artwork created by the resident animals -- such a unique touch. If you're in the area, Wonder Gardens is absolutely worth a stop. It's charming, educational, and your admission supports ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts. If you're interested in getting even closer to the animals, they also offer scheduled animal encounters, so be sure to check ahead for times.
