We had our two small Dachsunds at Idlewild for a week in June, 2018. We were very pleased with their experience, especially since they separate the big dogs from the smaller dogs, not done by other kennels we checked. We were staying in Egg Harbour, so it was easy for us to drop by half way thru their stay to check on them. The staff reported that they were doing really well, and because our rescue Dachsund wasn't fearfully clinging to me, we felt they were in good hands. We were able to bring in their own bedding, toys and food, which hopefully made them still feel connected to us. My only issue was that our dogs were a bit smelly when we picked them up, which we didn't expect since we were told they would get an exit bath. However, we did pick them up a day early, of which we notified them the day before, so there may not have been time to do that. As long as our two guys were well taken care of during their stay, and we felt they were, this was not a biggie for us. We definitely would bring them here again. read more
