She always treats me like I'm her BFF, and is very easy to work with. If I tell her "I don't know what I want, just do something" she is not afraid to take a leap of faith and try something. If I tell her I really want something, she tells me her honest, professional opinion about how it may or may not work on my head. She's just my favorite! Thanks for my awesome bangs Kim! The rest of the staff is great, too. Especially the salon manager,Christa (or Krista...sp?). She always acknowledges your arrival even if she's busy. She will help you our in a pinch ... like squeezing me in when I just needed to get a bang trim because they were too long and driving me crazy! And the ambience and interior design! Each chair is in a semi-private space and there are no cords or tools in view. It's always spotless! By the looks of the place you'd think you'd pay twice what they charge for services. I promise they are worth twice as much too. But, um, please don't raise your prices, 415... kthx!

Yeah sure, I probably say that too much. But, hey it's my intuition and I shall trust it, for now. Prices....well I didn't look, as I wasn't needing anything. I liked the clothes okay, decent selection of face/hair products. Salon seemed nice, though I'm more a 'just trim the dang hair' person. Nothing too experimental or dare I say, chic. If it's your thing, I think they might do a good job, if I ever have cause to report back, I will.

Eeek, Salon Allure's gotten a bit big for their britches…read more.. The morning of my good friend's wedding. Four bridesmaids and the mother of the groom trek to Salon Allure for some high falutin', super stylin' hair flair. Armed with muffins, fruit and champagne, this was to be a few hours to relax before the madness... Salon Allure has a BEAUTIFUL new space. Relaxing, classic, smooth and contemporary. Nestled in an up-and-coming stretch of Union Street...it's poised to pamper. Nice digs. The good... Heather did my hair and the hair of one other bridesmaid. She was talkative, congenial, gave me the perfect "country club" poof hair. A little bit fancy, but mostly I looked myself, but a grown up. She even hid my streak (for the most part), and I'm sure the bride appreciated that ;) She curled the hell out of the other girl's hair...looked beautiful. The bad: The rest of the staff just seemed terribly unenthused. It was disappointing. The girl that did two of the girl's hair was hardly friendly, borderline curmudgeonly. But, whatever...it is what it is, and then...we got the bill. I am sorry, my friends. If you are going to charge $95 for a pretty novice looking updo, you best do it with a damn smile. $95. I was in SHOCK. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. None of them took over 40 minutes. My blowdry style: $45 3 updos: $95/pop Mother of the Groom: $80 So we are talking, around $500 with tip to basically rearrange some hair. Make an effort. SERIOUSLY. So, basically...this place needs to get over itself....or step up to the plate with better work and better service. (this excludes Heather, she was great). But 50 percent still equals: pretty lacking. 3 stars is generous, as it may have been an off day. But hey, your friend only gets married once, and I don't live here anymore...so one chance is all they get....we could've gotten better styles at JC Penny for almost HALF the price.

I prefer cooler blonde highlights if that helps give anyone more context. Beth takes the time to walk through your specific needs, including dealing with less than ideal water conditions in my scenario (harsh well water) and is also just a pleasure to talk to! The salon is also very nice. Very welcoming and charming. I currently consider it my therapy :)

Every stylist is top notch and I know from their social media they travel and do continuation training to stay up on the latest trends and techniques. I see Micah who's amazing and hilarious; I'm pretty Type A but I always let him do whatever he thinks is best for my hair and I've never been disappointed. But Liza, Libby, and Shannon are all amazing as well. I cannot recommend them enough - actually I've had a friend from Chicago get a pretty drastic cut last summer and she went here based on my recommendation. Over Christmas my sister, who lives in Austria, booked an appointment with Sienna for a cut and color (her first cut in two years and the last time she had it colored was probably 10+ years ago) and Sienna did such an amazing job taking how it'd grow out into consideration and she was so pleased when she left, I was completely obsessed. I've never been unhappy leaving this salon, in fact, I always feel like a million bucks. Plus they have wine and coffee which is great because by the time I get there I'm needing one or the other :) Just a great crew with great skills and products. Love you guys! I searched my phone and apparently have a ton of photos of me being extra after getting my hair done... enjoy lol

The list is long describing Madison's skills, but the skill I want everyone to know about is her knack for handling a not so easy client. I bring my sister-in-law, Bev, to Madison for color and a blow out at least once a month. My lovely Bev has Alzheimer's and as scrambled as her brain is, she still loves her hair to look nice. Madison shows her compassion and kindness even through the tough job of keeping her in the chair or processing the color. It's definitely not an easy appointment for Madison, but she handles it with smiles and love. When we leave Bev is so happy and smooths her hair with both hands. Thank you Madison for all your skills - you're a genuine wonderful girl and I can't tell you how much I look forward to my appointments.
