During quieter periods, Ibrox Underground is fine to commute through during the day. The staff are friendly, it's big enough to accomodate a small number of people and it gets you from A to B.
At night, be safe. I'm not going to play into scaremongering and my God, people do that too often when it comes to Glasgow. Stats show you're not really 100% safe anywhere. But saying that, there are safer places than hanging around an underground at night. Given its backstreet location, I would say be careful.
During match days, avoid (unless you're going to a game, but even then I'd try other transport options). When you're swamped under a sea of blue, this underground can suddenly seem like it's shrunk to a tenth of its size. As Paul C said, it's ill equipped to deal with match days due to its structure, and although security are there to aid you it's still a bit of a rampage to get out. Rangers play round the corner from this stop and tend to take over the tube all around the line when the match is over. Look "The Bouncy" up on youtube. If you don't fancy joining in, take the bus or walk!
