Paint! What a fun place to be creative! I love that it's right downtown in beautiful Stillwater…read more I took my son here during his MEA break. We made a reservation ahead of time which was super easy by calling the studio a handful of days earlier. A reservation is optional. We were greeted by Andy who showed us the ropes regarding picking a ceramic piece, paint, & showed us to our table which was right up against the windows so we had some nice natural light. It was a relaxing atmosphere and I love how stress just melts away when you're painting. I decided on a llama succulent plant holder while my kiddo decided on the Eiffel Tower. The staff are great and friendly. You can also paint canvases if you want. They also host bday parties too! Tips: The staff will want you to do 3 coats of paint before you're done. If you don't finish your masterpiece during your visit - you can come back 1 more time to finish up. The price of the object includes the paint, firing the object, smocks, paint brushes and your time and table. Tipping is optional but appreciated.

The people who work here are on top of things, but also chill. I don't normally get all excited for places like this, but I definitely recommend Kari's! There are two types of paint. One you can take home same day and the other requires you to pick it up about a week or so later. They give you a month to pick up. We just walked in on a summer Friday afternoon. I would guess most of the time they have room for a group of 4 during walk in hours.

Not sure why this is called "Country Treasures" when both at the store the massive sign says…read moreHALLMARK and the official Hallmark website lists this as a Hallmark store as well, but just fyi, this is the Hallmark store by the mall. To make absolutely clear, I'm not guessing, the Hallmark site lists this as "Hallmark - Eau Claire Holiday Ornament & Décor Store - Country Treasures". As for the review, this place is terrible. I remember going to Hallmark stores growing up often and still occasionally even maybe last time before this week being around 2017 or so. Around the holidays they are usually full of loads of decorations, vibrant colors, and fake snow galore. I don't mean for sale, I mean the actual decor of the store. This place had basically nothing theming it at all or decorating it, just a plain boring nothing store. Another thing EVERYONE should guess or remember is that Hallmark is known for their cards for any occasion. Most Hallmark stores have hundreds of options, this location has less cards than the Target down the road from it (and I don't mean that figuratively, the Target literally has more cards I'm pretty sure). So the sole purpose of a Hallmark store is missing, they have 2 small aisled, summing up at most like 60 different cards. It's pointless. Then, near Christmas, you expect to see what Hallmark was known for as well - massive amounts of ornaments all about for sale, huge variety on display, and a million of those little village things (you know, those miniature houses and scene displays you put in your house) but the had literally ONE (1), not two, not twenty, just ONE SINGULAR THING. You then end up asking yourself why the store is so BIG if there are no cards and no ornaments or display or decor for the holidays or anything else...because, this is a consignment store in disguise. Over half the store is dedicated to random crap that has NOTHING to do with Hallmark, is not by Hallmark, is not even branded as Hallmark, and has no relation to anything. If you want consignment stuff, you're better off looking at the stores in the mall or going to the twin cities, not only is it absolutely terribly stupid that a Hallmark store has decided to turn itself into "local garbage trinkets that are actually just imported from China and sold as 'local'" but all the mass produced faux-local items are overpriced and excluded from sales and coupons lol. And, to wrap it all up, to call this place "Holiday Ornaments and Decor store" is just a joke. Again, they had barely any, they had more stuff about Eau Claire than they did Jesus or Christmas or Santa or even "happy holidays" but made sure to have a whole rack of cards about Hanukkah and a lot of cards relating to fishing or having a baby but nearly nothing about Christmas. You're better off at essentially ANY other store, the hardware store down the street should not be beating the HALLMARK STORE at holiday decor. This "Hallmark" is just abysmal.
