Long story short, I was visiting my girlfriend near UCR and this place was a reasonable drive from her apartment so she and I just decided to go. I just want to start out by saying that I never give bad reviews-- I completely support the independent businessman and want to do anything I can to bolster up that community rather than corporate America. However, my experience here was very bad and I want to warn anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation if they use WeWantToFix. Before I got there, I had told Greg that I had taken my phone apart to replace the screen myself but I wasn't able to fix it and asked them if I should reassemble it before I got there. Greg said to just leave it how it was and he would take care of it-- it would just be an additional charge. Not a big deal-- that's understandable. When I got into their little room, I showed him the problem with my phone and gave him the new screen that I had bought for him to put on. He said he could take care of it no problem and if he could't get it working, it would be no charge. Well, I got a call an hour later and he said he had put it all back together, had replaced the screen, and it still wasn't working. He asked me what I wanted him to do with it. I told him that I would just come pick it up. He said, "Well, if I leave it assembled, it is going to be $45." I reminded him that he had said that if he couldn't get it working that it would be no charge. He said that for it to be no charge, he would disassemble it and give it to me in pieces. I thought that was really bloodthirsty. He was giving himself MORE work, just so I wouldn't have an assembled phone. I told him that either way I was just going to sell it on e-bay for parts so it was fine-- just dissemble it and I would come pick it up. He said, "Well, you can take it to the Apple Store and trade it in for $150 for a new one-- that's their policy. So you should pay the $45 to keep it assembled so you can buy the replacement." I told him that was getting way expensive-- $45 to him and then $150 plus tax to Apple and that I would just assemble it myself and save the $45. He said that it had to look like a professional job for them to accept it back. I told him I would take my chances. He was super annoyed at me on the phone. When I came back to pick it up, they thrust it at me and didn't say a word-- super super rude. I was completely astounded-- I have never had anyone be so rude before. Especially in customer service. I took my phone home, took 10 minutes to assemble it myself, then took it to the Apple Store to pay for the replacement. I asked them if it was OK that I had taken it apart and put it back together sloppily and they said that was no problem at all. Greg was just being cheap and dishonest. I seriously was so disappointed with my service there. I will NEVER use them again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Terrible experience. However, I think Greg does know his stuff-- I think problems with him will only occur if he ISN'T able to fix it and thus doesn't get paid. The location of this business is a little tricky. It's in an office building on the 2nd floor where offices are subleased out. At first, I thought I was at the wrong place until the receptionist asked if she could help me. I brought in my Powerbook to be a new hard drive installed. I met up with Greg and he couldn't diagnose the problem immediately (although he gave me his best guesstimate), so I left my Powerbook. He called me within a couple hours (as promised) and verified that I simply needed a new hard drive. He had the hard drive installed by the end of the day (a few hours), but I couldn't pick it up right away. I did get it the next day. He explained what he did and returned the old hard drive. He was very professional and the price for the work was very reasonable. If I ever have any problems in the future with any of my Apple products, I'll most likely bring it back. read more

Breakdown Let me do the comparison for you. I contacted few other vendors before going to Greg for my iPhone6 glass shatter. Quotes from 1. iCracked for a price higher around $120. 2. Vendor B $119 3. Apple Stores $109 4. WeWantToFix $115 current price - yelp's 5 dollar deal (this may change of course) I chose to go with Greg here at WeWantToFix for a few reasons. Reasons 1. Cheapest 2. Distance from my house I would have gone with the Apple store but I did not because I had to wait 4 more days until I got myself an appointment at the GeniusBar. If I lived closer to an Apple Store and had the patience to wait I would have waited. Most screen fixes are possible same day at Apple stores, unlike some of these vendors who lie and say it takes days FYI. Apple is better in my opinion because they offer me better warranty, and if you fix your screen from a 3rd party and something goes wrong with your phone, the Apple Store will void your 1 year warranty. This didn't matter much for me because I am almost done with my 1 year warranty anyways I took the risk. Vendors 1 and 2 gave me LifeTime Warranty but I went with Greg's 3 months warranty because it was cheaper. If it lasts 3 months most likely it will last longer. Hopefully. Location Tip for location, yes you are at the right building. Just go upstairs and it will say REGUS. I went in there and came back and searched for building numbers and had some difficulty looking for the office. The building houses many other offices, they share the same secretary. So just talk to the secretary. Overall. Satisfactory so far. It has only been one day so I will not know for sure. I bought myself a new screen protector. And Greg only took 30 minutes to fix my phone. He was friendly and didn't have any real problems with dealing with him. Tip: Bring cash if you don't want to pay tax. My wife's MacBook had some water damage and the screen had quit working. The first step I took (of course) was to take it in to an Apple store for a diagnosis. They told me that the logic board and screen connections had been damaged and would need to be overhauled for a flat cost of $750... Ugh... Upon his review of the situation Greg found out that the logic board, while corroded slightly, was actually perfectly operational and it was actually the LCD screen that was out of commission. I had to fix my iphone twice (speaker problem) and both time was excellent - fast repair (under 10 mins) and honest pricing. The first time I went in, Greg showed me that it's not the speaker but another module that was affected, so it was more costly $55. He works quickly like a surgeon and had the quick operation all within 10 min. Today I went in again because the speaker stopped working again. I thought it might be the same problem, and perhaps even bigger problem that blew out the module. Apple Geniuses are useless. Like what is the point of their existence really?! This is a delayed review but Greg repaired my 2012 Macbook Pro probably three or four times back when this business was still in Riverside. I think I might have just purchased a defective model But he was quick, reasonably priced, and all around convenient. During one of the repairs, I had totally fried my hard drive. He was able to replace it with one that had more storage and was even able to recover all the files. I've invested in new Macbooks since then but my little 2012 notebook is still chugging along smoothly in 2018! I'll probably still go all the way out to Studio City if I ever run into any Apple/Mac-related issues and have directed friends and family here when the Geniuses disappoint (like they typically do ) Would 100% recommend. read more

I noticed the best day that the screen was acting a little funky and the light sensor wasn't working, so I brought it back to him and he replaced the screen and even showed me where the problem was with the light detector (I'm sure my vocabulary is wrong but you get the point). Called to inquire about iPhone screen repair. I asked how much it cost and he said it was $69 for a 6. He neglected to inform me that the next phone up is a price jump of $50-$70. I worked through my lunch to get off early so I could get there before they closed. Once I get there I am told my phone will cost $150 for the screen. The Yelp check in doesn't get you a discount, just a ploy to get you in there. Left without getting my screen fixed, I'd rather go to Apple if I'm going to pay an arm and a leg and drive to BFE. read more
