You do order at the cashier/order taker and then they give you a number and when your food comes out, you get the food delivered to the table with the number. When you are done, you have to buss your own table and do all that stuff besides wiping off your table. I thought the environment was awesome and I would highly recommend again and again to anybody that wants to come great place. And they do put the taco in Tacoma.

Colibrí is Hummingbird in Spanish and we figured that out fairly quickly in addition to the signage and saw this particular bird. It's also one of our favorite birds that come around our house. We were pondering if we wanted appetizers but we held off and went straight to drinks and a meal when it came to ordering. I got the absolutely fantastic Enchiladas Colibrí with ground beef. This was a trio enchilada plate in which each enchilada is in different sauces. One has a green sauce, another a red sauce and another was in a molé sauce. All three enchiladas were absolutely delicious as well as all three of the sauces. Ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors had a great "personality " to them. It was a great choice to get. My plate also came with rice and beans. When it was put before me I was wondering if I was going to be able to eat it all but I did and was feeling just right. For dessert we had a great tasting flan. Whenever we are in a Mexican restaurant and a flan opportunity arises Steve often time seizes the opportunity to get an order. It too was quite good and a great finish to the meal. I also got their Cucumber Margarita which was very refreshing and the Cucumber essence was a great fit to the rest of the meal. The Tajín rim was a wonderful touch to the drink. Very, very good meal and nice, friendly service gives Colibrí a five star score with ease.

They have a coconut flavor one which I might try next time. After ordering, we grabbed a table by the salsa bar. I like how the salsa bar is self-served so you can have unlimited toppings. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile every time. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the portions are solid they're not skimpy at all. The meats are juicy and full of flavor, and the tripas are cooked perfectly crispy, just how they should be. They also have a great sauce and toppings area with lots of choices, so you can customize everything exactly how you like it. Plus, they even offer bone marrow, which you don't see everywhere. Overall, this is easily the best taco spot in the area in my opinion. Definitely a go-to if you're craving good tacos

So when my wife suggested Vecindad in Tacoma, I bit my tongue and went along with it just to appease her. Glad I did. This place was excellent, and had some interesting choices. First up, we ordered guacamole as a starter. So what, you say? Every Mexican restaurant offers that. Yeah but have you ever had the guac served in the shape of a round cake ring, accompanied by whole tortilla chips? The presentation felt upscale, even though the price was reasonable. And the guac was very good. My wife then ordered their famous Tacos Don Ramón, made from ribeye steak and melted asadero cheese. These used to be prepared and served tableside, until some local government agency ordered them to stop making it that way. The waitress told us they're modeled after the Michelin-star rated tacos from a well-known Mexico City taquería called El Califa de León. These were delicious, and unlike any tacos I've ever had. I ordered their short ribs entrée, an item I've never seen on the menu of any Mexican restaurant. The ribs had a fantastic char, with a tasty slightly fatty flavor, and a portion size that felt like a very good value. Also, the beans/frijoles accompanying the short ribs were puréed, making them another item I've never seen served in that fashion at a Mexican place. They were also flavorful and perfectly complemented the short ribs. Even though we live about 30 minutes away, we're definitely planning on going back to Vecindad. Great food, great service, reasonable price.
