The salon was closed when I dropped in, though it was during trading times, but that's understandable because there's not much point in opening up before you've got appointments if it's the middle of a work day. I called the phone number provided and Esther answered immediately. She was friendly and accommodating, and we made an appointment for an hour later. She was just as friendly in person, and did an excellent job! After the trim and shape my hair had a lot more movement, and she showed me new techniques when blowing it out. I'll definitely be back, and will hopefully try more of her services as well! This one's definitely worth a go.

From a small shop front located on Burgundy street you wouldn't think there would be so many services on offer. The main reason I visit Tropical Sun is for eyelash extensions. Sonia performs the service and she is most definitely a perfectionist. Refill are usually $55 while the last time a payed for a full set it was $140, it may have changed since then. I find the price to be standard with this type of service. Sonia always delivers a great job and she is always consistent leaving you feel as though she has focused 100% of her time on you. I would highly recommend Sonia for anyone who is looking to have there lashes done for the first time, she knows what she is doing and you would happily become a regular client of hers.

I arrived at 1:30pm and colour was still not completely applied by 3:00pm and they were not even busy. Claire who did my hair was slapping dark dye all over the place and on me I left with dye majorly on my face and hands, I was so worried it was going to get on my clothes and handbag, the whole experience was so unprofessional and into the bargain I paid Toorak prices of $310! When I rang Claire to let her know I was unhappy with the whole experience she lied to me saying she is going away for 2 weeks and cannot do anything for me until she gets back, I couldn't wait that long so I went to another hairdresser to have it fixed. Not only was the application great and color natural looking, but Natasha took the time to discuss my skin, the pros/cons of various types of spray tans and truly seemed to care about achieving exactly what I was after.
