This hotel attempts to be environmentally friendly, with biodegradable soap, a minimum of luxury items, motion sensitive lights in the hallways, and push button keypads instead of plastic keys. Our bed was very comfortable, and our window opened for fresh air at night. The shower was hot with plenty of pressure. A hot water pot with instant coffee and tea bags was provided. Our room was very quiet. We did not hear a sound all night. The clerk who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She was also able to speak to us in English. This hotel does not have a pool or exercise room, but there is a lovely historical place to walk or jog outside across the street. Breakfast is available for an additional fee, but is reasonably priced.

Fabrice and Victor, the two owners, are the most pleasant people you'll ever meet and are eager to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They gave us good recommendations for restaurants, as well as local sites to visit. If it had not been for Fabrice's recommendation, my wife and I would have missed a trip to the Butte of Montsec, a spectacular monument commemorating the Battle of St. Mihiel. Our stay included breakfast with several options. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel too highly. FYI, there is a parking lot close by with free overnight parking.

Yes, the grounds make Downton Abbey look like the gardener's quarters! Stunningly beautiful with a rich WW 1 history as an emergency field hospital. The place is so big and airy that it's almost overwhelming. Bring a large contingent and stay a week to humanize the place. Is there croquet? After you stay here, write and let me know. The drive here from Verdun is quick and ever so beautiful. There just aren't many places like this. Go!
