Really and truly right around the corner from the Champs Elysees. Excellent location near a landmark of course, but also near several metro entrances. There's a burger king and a mcdonald's at the end of the street if you're looking for a late night snack.
Once you enter to your right will be the dining area for breakfast and to the left will be the check-in counter. There are two gentlemen who man the desk, but only one at a time. The night gentleman is more personable and chatty but both are incredibly nice and helpful. I bothered them a lot because my baggage had been delayed and they were very gracious and helpful.
After checking in, directly across from the main entrance is a lovely winding staircase. To the left of the staircase is a small elevator. I wouldn't think the elevator could fit more than 2 people, and definitely not if you have significant luggage. I felt very roomy since I had just a carry-on and myself but if you're a two or more person party I would take turns going up the elevator. It's not a very quick or grandiose one but it does the job and is very clean. The staircase is a little squeaky and if you're on the top floor like I was you'll get a workout but the winding aspect does make it very fun.
I had one of the smallest rooms I believe with just a single bed - it was wider I feel than a regular twin bed, but of course not as wide as a full or a queen. Once you walk in there's a bathroom to your right, the bed further ahead and to your right. On the left wall there's a small desk area. Directly ahead there is a window which can be opened with the classic iron railing and you can look up and down the street if you poke your head out - there aren't any landmarks or anything visible but personally I felt it was a lovely view since all the architecture was different from what I'm used to.
The bedding was pristine and very comfortable and the receptionist gave me extra blankets as requested free of charge. When you're laying on the bed, to the left is a little cubby cut into a closet where there is a phone and a place to charge your phone. The closet is maybe 2 feet wide and has a safe in it which is very easy to set up. Under the safe is also a small refrigerator with assorted drinks.
On the small table are various snacks but most importantly a portable wifi hotspot which would have been very useful had I not already purchased data w/ my carrier.
The bathroom is also very small - you're getting the idea, everything is small. But everything is also very clean! Once you enter the bathroom to the right is the sink, and to the front right is the standing shower and front left is the toilet. To your left on the wall is a hook for hanging your towels and to the right on the wall is a hair dryer. The toiletries were strange, there was body wash and solid soap and body lotion but no conditioner or shampoo. The doors to the shower stall are double sided and open up in a v-shaped fashion. You can change the water to come from above or from a hand-held which was nice. There didn't seem to be any limits on how long the hot water lasted. There isn't a lot of space to put all the toiletries you've brought w/ you. read more
