Charming hotel located right across from the train station. We stayed on the 1st floor (2nd floor…read morefor our fellow Americans who are reading this). The windows are quite thick - double paned glass that blocks out the outside noise and keeps the room insulated quite nicely. The bed is comfy, and while the room is not so spacious (typical for a French hotel) it is clean, comfortable and quite dark at night for those like myself who require a dark room to sleep in. The shower is great - full pressure, large rain-like shower head and good blow dryer for hair/body use. Hotel staff members are quite nice and most of them speak english, and a couple of them speak spanish. While I encourage everyone to try and learn key phrases and sentences to use while in France, it is comforting to know that the hotel staff are multi lingual, especially with the english language.
I'd opt to skip the breakfast at the hotel and just head out to explore the town as there are plenty of places to eat as long as you are not there on a Sunday/Monday as quite a few places are closed those days. I would stay here again should I find myself in Chartres again.
