Really comfortable and busy hotel right in the Marina. It's beside the Dior museum (€8) which we avoided and near the Manch lles car ferry to Jersey. We picked a room with a view of the stunning harbour, which cost a bit extra. It had the smallest balcony I've ever seen. Despite this, we squeezed in and sat for ages watching all the activity at the waterfront supported with a few bottles of wine. Some of the locals looked up and wished us bon appetite; what a civilised community. In fact the whole region is delightful to visit and worth a week. The tides here are quite something from shallow pools to a huge high tide (see photos). The room was very comfortable, with a reasonably large flat screen telly and a decent size bathroom. It had black out blinds and was double glazed so it was very quiet once the doors were closed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the €9ish euro eat what you want brekky was very good indeed. I especially liked the coffee. I do have one niggle though: we ordered two coffees while we sat at a table at the Ibis restaurant overlooking the harbour, only to be charged another 90 cents just because we sat there. Thought for a moment I was in Italy! We had stayed the previous night in the Ibis budget a few miles away which was about £30 less. If we return we'll opt for the harbour. The budget hotel was very good too but the harbour is special. read more
