Not impressed, especially for the price and the fact that it is 4 stars, but I know that in France…read morethat basically means nothing. Came for a weekend getaway from kids with a girlfriend, especially to use the pool and relax. Pool was TINY and also part of an athletic club so very difficult to find a time to use the pool when a class wasn't going on, and when it was possible, many people swimming laps, so for kids to play or to relax not very comfortable for anyone. That said, there was also a sauna and hamam. We didn't eat breakfast but saw you could do buffet for 15€ or continental for 9, we went and looked at buffet, it looked mediocre, but could get all sort of fare, half English breakfast, some savory and sweet. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, but decoration was not superb and we joked about it a lot (not that this is a super important criteria, but you know). Our biggest disapointment but then surprise was when we tried to order a pizza: couldn't get any pizza places in Calais to deliver to hotel, they said it was too far!!! It being past 10 PM we were paniced and starving, but the bar was still serving "snacks" they said. The menu was scary and read: Hamburger Ceaser Salad etc. with no desciption, looked like we were going to pay big bucks for very gross, heated up frozen food. To our surprise, the food was LOVELY, fresh, nicely presented, etc! A simple update to their menus would really validate the quality of their food! I can't speak for all staff, but I will say that the woman at the bar barely spoke English. We live in France and speak fluent French an I think she thought we were French, and she made fun and rolled her eyes at a British party in front of us, and could barely communicate with them. How is that possible in a 4-star hotel catering to the Tunnel and ferry tourists????
