This is a typical Ibis, that's convenient for both the Eurotunnel and the Cité Europe shopping centre.
Comfortable bed, clean rooms with those funny cubical showers, straight out of the space station.
The last time we stayed the rooms had been given a lick of paint and new bedding, which gave it a much fresher look.
There's a nice bar, but the restaurant is a bit hit and miss. Hit - gammon steak / Miss - any of the pasta (I was tempted to ask the chef how he got it to all stick together). Oh and don't be fooled by any offers of steak (it's that faux steak that the French love and the rest of the world uses to sole their shoes). One poor lady sent hers back, but the clue is in the price - it isn't going to be prime Angus for that.
There was free WiFi too, which is new, but I can't say how long it will last. Just ask at the reception for a WiFi key, which is valid for 24 hours. read more
