Learning that Americans like more than one cup of coffee in the morning, and that protein is essential for a long day of cycling, they brought us pots of coffee and cooked many eggs for us. For which we are very appreciative! The usual French breakfast of bread and jam would sustain one for about 12 minutes of cycling, so the eggs really helped. Algajola is a small town, so everything is close. The Spar market, just 100 meters away, has a good selection of groceries, beer and wine. Maybe it's because I was expecting more but I just wasn't thrilled with my stay here. First off the…read moresignage to get here is *terrible* even with GPS it's confusing and your GPS may lead you astray at this location for some reason, Apple, google and Garmin maps were all incorrect and since there's almost no signage, and what there is you can't see it until you pass it, getting there was extremely frustrating. When we checked in they asked us to wait to have our room ready for us, offering us a spot on the patio to wait, I ordered a strawberry mojito and it was awful - intense overpowering mint flavor and incredibly weak alcohol - they never came back. We sat there for nearly an hour wondering why it was taking so long to ready the room, apparently it didn't take long they just never bothered to tell us it was done. This exact problem happened again the second night waiting to be seated for dinner, asked to wait while they prep the table then never came back to tell us it was ready and leaving us to sit. Terrible customer service in that regard. The rooms are pretty enough but I found them lacking, the king bed was two twin beds pushed together but with no mattress topper so we couldn't use the middle of the bed with out the uncomfortable edges of the twin beds bothering us the pillows are also somehow dense and flat at the same time, uncomfortable. It's a large room with no place to put anything, only two small end tables and a tiny desk despite room for a large coffee table so I had to sort my things on the floor - which the cleaning people "cleaned" by dumping all back into my bag haphazardly - really unhelpful. Yeah my stuff was on the floor but there's literally no where else to put it. The bathroom is split in two with the toilet right by the front door, with no sink for hand washing and the sink and bathtub on the other side of the room - they also have no proper shower, just a mounted handheld that requires you to stand very close to the wall to use as a shower, but it's difficult due to the shape of the bath also the toiletries are not very good, they lather poorly making you use a lot for just one shower. Lastly we requested laundry service because we were on a very minimal wardrobe due to traveling by motorcycle - the hotel contracts laundry out, but apparently don't do quality control checks or uses a subpar vendor as they didn't wash our clothes but ironed them all, while dirty, and trying to charge us full price for wash and iron - they were very clearly still dirty when we got them back. Thankfully they did refund the laundry costs with out argument, but no argument could have been made to pay since the service wasn't rendered. The view here is beautiful and I feel like they rely far too heavily on that and not enough on service or providing a four star experience. Also this place attracts young families and there was always a child, or two or three screaming so it may not be the peaceful destination you're looking for.

Excellent value in Île Rousse. Probably one of the best value the high-demand Balagne area…read more(accessible pricing / (upper) middle range hotel). The rooms are clean and updated. The hotel is perfectly located just a short drive from downtown and beaches. Walkable in 8/12 minutes. 2016: The bathrooms (slightly outdated) are well kept and very clean. The pool area and veranda are a real oasis. 2018: The bathrooms have been remodeled, tastefully so, and all the remaining carpeting has been change for either wood or vinyl. Organized work related retreats and have been there in the summer of 2011, 13, 15, 16, and 18. Due to the nature of my stays, I have seen and accessed many rooms and I have seen an consistant and positive evolution for this little family run hotel. Stayed here this summer again (2018) and was, extremely, pleased by my stay.

A very pleasant stay for a reasonable price. I like the proximity to the downtown area, it's just a…read morewalk away. The rooms are very clean and there is even some local Corsican artwork showcased around the hotel. One of the highlights is the pool, relatively private because it's located in a garden with no surrounding hotels. Breakfast is convenient and perfect before taking a dip!
