It's not very easy to find, we got lost…read moreand saw several others looking for the hotel as well but everyone in the area is used to pointing you in the right direction. We stayed in a suite which was quite spacious with nice views and several windows, two which were floor length and opened fully. The bed was comfy and the pillows were dense but not as bad as some places we've stayed. Their bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, tiny shower with a too small surround so water gets everywhere. There was water coming out the top of the shower head but it still functioned properly. There's a note above the toilet written in a very rude tone about not wasting towels but when you have to mop up after the shower it's hard not to "waste" them. We didn't get to use the wellness area as it was closed for construction or something like that, the pool was open but in a tiny closed area of a basement so we didn't bother. At night you can also hear music from local bars but it wasn't bothersome to me at all since it's very dull. There's no immediate parking but there is a parking structure near by - motorcyclists beware! The locals will break your blinkers and vandalize your bike if you park in the alleys, like they did to our bike, so you must park in the parking "citadel" - it's a bit shady to walk back on the steep dark staircases but the car park it's self is well lit and seemed secure enough. Other than the weird bathroom/shower we loved our room and the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was good, although the hot foods were cold there was lots of other options.

The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere - 15 minutes walking from the port, over 30 minutes to the old town, over an hour to the beach... When we arrived to Bastia by ferry, there were no taxis at the Taxi Stand - we walked up the hill for 15 minutes to find out the only elevator at the hotel did not work. The elevator was fixed eventually, but after we carried luggage upstairs (its not 5* hotel - no doorman - be prepared to rely on yourself)... There are buses going to the beach, but they stop running early - around 5pm. We spent over an hour walking back from the beach because buses were not running. If you do not have a car, stay near the old city or by the beach or by the port. If you have a car, stay outside Bastia - there are nice resorts out there. Best Western does not have a pool or sauna or gym. The rooms are small and bathrooms are tiny. The area around the hotel is not interesting. Stay somewhere else.
