Great view with nice enough food…read more This is not the place for a culinary experience but it is fine for a pleasant lunch with a great view in beautiful Ile d'Houat. Visiting the island is a treat by itself, but the scenery from the terrace of the restaurant is outstanding. The food was fine not great, the choice limited to a few dishes. I had the fish special and it was good and tasty though I must confess I don't remember what it was. My companions had the ray and were very happy with their choice. We had some rose wine which was fine. The prices were ok by island standards. My experience with islands is that everything is more expensive; Houat is no exception. There were a few people enjoying their lunch and all seemed happy.

We stayed at Le Marin in Auray, France in November 2014. We were really happy with our stay there…read more Located by the Port of St. Gousteau, Auray, it was an idyllic place to visit and had some wonderful history as well as a great location to investigate the surrounding areas. The quarters were close but the hotel was charming as were the proprietors; Eddy and Corinne. They were so kind and helpful. Part of our party, my sister and her husband, arrived earlier that evening and myself and my partner were visiting the wondrous Mont Saint-Michel and would be arriving later that night. Eddy provided my brother-in-law with our room key and said we could come down the next morning to take care of the paperwork. The morning breakfast of croissant, yogurt, fresh orange juice, coffee, and Corrine's and Eddy's freshly made jams were wonderful. So much detail was put into their wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend it.
