I had a good time watching a cover band and eating BBQ in parking lot. Good atmosphere. Bartenders were very friendly with healthy pours.

The mule is definitely my favorite drink here, it's been made perfectly each time I had it. We had a big group, so we ordered a variety of bar bites and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of all the food. Especially the garlic bread, wow!!! It was piping hot, fresh and fluffy and just perfect. The host for trivia did a fantastic job and created a super fun event for us. The questions were general-knowledge enough that mostly anyone could have participated. Somehow our team won and the prizes were so fun!! More people need to know about this place!!

I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see. Been watching the socials . Happy to have a fun bar experience again around here and look forward to my next trip.

Our travels took us to The Groggy Frog and we were thrilled we took the hour drive in the snow. Service: Prompt, Authentic, Laid Back - no corporate pieces of flare (thank goodness). Atmosphere: you had me at hello. Dive bar, watering hole, where everyone goes vibe. Small. Unique. They definitely do not make them like this anymore. Great music and bar noise. Rustic wood. High tops all around. Fantastic. The wings: so far the best hidden gem we have found. Way better than others in Southington I have previously visited and reviewed. Tons of flavors. They also offer wings in 5's, so, if you're like us and want to try a few sauces - you're in a great position until you find your go-to's. We ordered: hot buffalo, buffalo blue, chipotle honey horseradish, teriyaki wasabi, and an order of their fried shrimp tossed in hot buffalo. All hot, crispy, excellent. While all the sauces were good, the hot buffalo and chipotle honey horseradish make the cut for our next visit. We can't wait to be back and try 3-4 other sauces with the 2 we've fallen in love with. Note: I love the blue cheese dressing at places as much as the wings. I have noticed the wing places in Southington serve a thicker (almost spreadable) homemade blue cheese. It was excellent. But because of its thickness, we went through a lot. And, as you may read in my other reviews, I hate the 2oz soufflé cups in a wing place. 4oz minimum please. Only thing I've learned to do better next time - ask for tons of extra napkins. I prefer when they're either stored on the table, or better, have paper towel rolls on the tables at the elite wing joints.

All of the flavors of wings we had were delicious & unique. Definitely try the capn' crunch wings…read morew/ fluff! They have a great draft list & other great options for food on the menu. My husband has been wanting to come and try their updated menu. I couldn't be more impressed. I started with their specials drink "Peach on the beach" Malibu coconut rum mixed with peach nectar and tropical mango juice and a rim filled with Tajín. Oh my super yummy. My husband started with a braised Rip Tácito appetizer. I expected him to have 2 maybe 3 and was pleasantly surprised with the 5 that came out. They were amazing! Perfectly marinated meat with caramelized onions and cheese. It was perfectly wrapped in a flour wrap and perfectly grilled. It came with a delicious dip and garnished with tomatoes and jalapeños. I can't rave enough about these! For his main course, he had the mild boneless buffalo tenders. My husband said they cooked them perfectly for him. Just the right amount of sauce and chicken tenderness. I had the Rasta Pasta. Grilled teriyaki chicken with pasta in a yummy cream sauce. My starter was a Caesar salad that was mixed nicely for me. (I don't like when they serve the dressing on the side) We were stuffed and had to take our main meals to go after a couple of bites. Stop and try their food, I don't believe it will disappoint.
