No one came by to check on our table so I had to take it up to the "kitchen" which is basically just an open area behind the register. The only reason why I'm not giving just one star is because the owner came by and offered us a complimentary breakfast dessert (French toast with ice cream). It was ok but I would've rather just had my meal comped. The owner was nice. Anyway my mom came back to the restaurant with my father and they messed up both of their orders again. This is a nice local spot I go to whenever I am in snellville visiting my mother. I have ordered here a few times and my expectations are either met or I am disappointed. I love their all American style breakfasts with sausage, eggs, toast, grits, etc. The major problem I have with this restaurant and this is MAJOR...one that I noticed quite a few restaurants have: they deep fry chicken and fish in the same oil. The major reason for my discontent is recently I ordered a chicken biscuit and the entire sandwich tasted like old fish grease. I was literally repulsed. I even thought of mentioning it to the staff but I do not want to cause an issue and it has to be a problem they notice. Seriously if they made that one change the 2 stars will immediately become 4 starts at least. We went here after church last Sunday. We typically don't eat out for brunch or breakfast for the weekend because we cook at home. We were seated right away, but because the space isn't huge if you don't get there early you will have to wait which was the case for customers that came in 20 mins after us. The ambiance is casual dining. Food: The breakfast menu is very traditional southern style breakfast food - pancakes, grits, hash browns, French toast, eggs, etc. My husband ordered pancakes with sausage, grits, and eggs. Unfortunately there isn't any substitution for eggs, even as an up charge option because my husband doesn't eat eggs. We wish there was a substitution option for the eggs for people who might not eat them. My husband throughly enjoyed his food. I was on a restricted food plan this month so I was not able to get what I wanted because it either had potatoes or bread/wheat but I was happy they had omelettes, which was customizable. So, I was able to get my perfect ingredient omelette. It tasted pretty good, no complaints and they weren't skimpy on the ingredient options for my omelette. It was enough for a meal but not big enough to take home for another meal. Also, many other breakfast and brunch places have omelette meals that come with sides, but here you'd have to order it as a separate side item. Also, my husband ordered orange juice which came in a single serving size plastic bottle like at Chick-fil-A. The Service: Our waitress was good and friendly. We received our food rather quickly with limited wait time. We were in and out in less than an hour (but it was packed with a long wait when we left) Overall, this a good choice if you want a good solid simple southern style breakfast. I was very excited to try this new breakfast spot which has been open since the beginning of August. We were greeted immediately with a a smile upon entering and seated quickly. We came at about 8:15 on Sunday morning. It wasn't busy yet. It was VERY clean and soft gospel music was playing in the background. I ordered the grit bowl with shrimp. It was GREAT! The shrimp were seasoned to perfection and the grits were Creamy Dreamy goodness. I wanted to try a pancake but was full but there's always next time. Our server, Mesha, was very pleasant and attentive. We had another server assisting her but I didn't get her name (she didn't have a name tag). This was a great experience and I'm looking forward to visiting Huskers again and to bring more of the family. Good job Huskers!!! read more

The staff is attentive and helpful in every way, COVID practices in place. The only suggestions I have are 1) stop using canned mushrooms and 2) bump up the jam to something made in house. You can't beat the value you get here. Watch your add-on (mushrooms, etc) selections bc they are not included in the base price but the meal remains reasonable even if you get some add ins. Don't get the coffee. It's straight nasty!! They need a new coffee vendor. You can really mess up a good breakfast with nasty coffee. They're coffee tasted like instant coffee and it wasn't hot. Simply disgusting!! Everything else was cool. It's a spacious restaurant with ample parking. The taste of their food was good and they had very pleasant service. The food came out pretty quickly which was also good. I saw that they serve lunch also. I'll be back again to try their lunch. The food was more than amazing and even though it was busy the service was amazing too. Our wait time was very short and the food came out really hot and tasted so good. I had the shrimp and grits. My daughter had chicken and waffles. Our meal together was right at $20 and the portions were just right to ensure we were full. I loved how bright this restaurant was, there was a lot of natural light coming in through the windows. The wait to be seated was only about 5 minutes. I keep bringing that up because I was expecting to wait a while. They are located in a shopping center so there is more than enough parking. I was really surprised at the value for what we ordered. I was expecting to pay much more than we did. I will definitely be going back to Husker's. I was thoroughly impressed all the way around and can't wait to try something else on the menu. Went to Huskers for breakfast this morning. Some of the tables upon entering the restaurant were not wiped clean. I'm not sure why when there were staff members sitting down as I entered. Usually the service of the food is pretty quick after odering. That did not happen today even though they had enough kitchen staff. It seemed as though they were out of sync. When I received my order, a vegetable omelet, sausage was added in. The omelet was sent back for them to correct. The vegetable omelet was made, but upon eating it I found pieces of bacon in it as well. I informed my server who did an excellent job to let the cooks know about the omelets. I did not have to pay for the omelet at the end. Even though today was not a good one from the kitchen staff, I will be back and I pray it will be back to normal by then. read more

Today was my first time eating at Huskers. Where do I began? The restaurant has a weird seating layout. Doesn't utilize the space optimally. No designated maître d' area. When I walked in I found myself waiting on a line, that was for customers to get soft drinks, which isn't the norm but a gentleman decided to refill his own drink and I the fool behind him. I had the shrimp and grits, found out how slippery a shrimp can be when it has grits on it and you try to take the tail off. Never had shrimp and grits with the tail still attached. Their was also a hair in my food. So the order had to be redone. All together the food was average, service was sub par and with light traffic there would be a wait for a place not worth waiting for. read more
