Somehow this company was able to change the address on my credit card account to their mailing address. I have never heard of this place, I never hired them to do anything. By sheer luck and happenstance I found this out before any new cards were mailed. I'm opening a fraud investigation with Chase to get to the bottom of this. This is scary and creepy af. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, CALL YOUR DEBTORS AND NEGOTIATE FOR YOURSELF!! Had Huron and their services for over a year, and they only settled one account in that time. You pay them a monthly fee, and they still add 25% of the original amount of your debt (EX, debt $1000, their fee to settle it is $250). Communication was horrible, ended up in a lawsuit. They were of no help; only when I canceled my account did they come up with some settlements, and on top of that, it would have cost me more than I originally owed. I am completely appalled and frustrated, and the truth is, I am actually disgusted. They are quick to take my money but slow to do anything else. This company somehow gained access to my Paypal credit account and changed my address to their own (!) I have never done business with this company nor have I ever contacted them about anything. After verifying my identity with Paypal I learned that this change (which was fraudulently made by someone pretending to be me) was done one week ago. Unfortunately, Paypal did not contact me about the address change. It was serendipity that I happened to check my contact info and discovered this fraudulent activity. If I hadn't checked it my new credit card would have been mailed out to this company! read more

In a year and a half I paid $2700 in fees and my dept INCREASED by $3000. When I went to close my account they took the last $900 out of my account claiming retainer fees, without the last payment to my creditor. Every person you talk to has a different story. My dept was from medical fees and car repair after I had to close my business because of an illness. I am so sick of getting ripped off by people that gained my trust claiming they are here to help. run run run as far from this company and grt financial as fast as you can. i would give zero stars if possible. they failed to contact the lawyers who are trying to get a judgement against me for a credit card (they made 1 phone call). they told me not to contact the othe attorney who then got a judgement against me. when i call back to grt and huron they call the lawyer and then they said good news we got an offer but only after i called grt and huron. when i asked what they had done with the approx. $1400 i paid them they said well we keep that because we got you a settlement offer. even though i am the one who did all the work. they finally end up sending me back a little over $200 back (big deal!!!). ihave called multiple times to speak to someone in management but they are all too busy on their coffee breaks to take a call from a client. never heard from anyone except when they read my bad review of them. they called and asked why i gave such abad review, bunch of idiots the management is. stay away from these companies. please!!!! read more

They are absolutely horrible. They come up with a settlement plan but change the plan as you go. Lengthen the time frame as well as the monthly amount. I was with them for 3 years and got sued twice and several of my debtors had not even been contacted after 3 years. I ended up cancelling my plan and filed bankruptcy because they absolutely ruined my credit. read more

Huron law group presented itself as a debt management firm. They used CFT (Crossroads Financial Technologies) which has extorted over $4000 from me. Huron Law Group took $6300 and paid $1200 in debt - the rest is in fees. I only had $9000 in debt and they have paid off only two cards and 3 accounts remain! How is this legal? Why is this not spread all over. How can I protect others? How can I get my money back? I'm so upset. I have struggled financially anyway and then they steal like this!!! Crazy! I got the ledger today showing $100 to $200 fees PER CHECK to my debtor PLUS management fees and escrow fees. How can this be????? WE SHOULD DO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM! The Huron Law Group is a debt consolidation nightmare! I would advise anyone considering them to reconsider. I cannot believe the trouble I've encountered with this company. Very disappointing. I began debt settlement with them for a 3-year term at a set amount of about $350 monthly. However, for over 11 months of that 3 years I was required to pay almost twice that contracted amount. Huron's CS reps would constantly call and say I needed more money added to my account immediately. At the end of my three year contract term, I still had my largest debt (which was a third of the beginning debt balance) that remained unpaid. I contacted that credit card company about the remaining debt and they advised the debt had been sent to the legal department because they had never heard from Huron since receiving the POA for that debt over three years ago! So Huron never even attempted to contact them to settle. When I released Huron and decided to settle that remaining debt on my own, (which I was told by the credit card company that anyone can do themselves without a company like Huron), Huron sent me a refund check for some monies that I had "banked" in excess of what they paid out. I put that money toward by unresolved debt, then a week later, Huron stopped payment on the check. Upon contacting them they would offer no excuse nor would they agree to pay my check chargeback fee for my costs. I was so done with them that I just let it go. Do not use this company they are a front for a debt consolidation loan company called New Credit America - they know they cannot settle with creditors like Discover and CitiBank but take the accounts anyway let you get so in default you have no choice but to take the absolutely ridiculous loan offer from their partners in crime because you are being sued - all the while both companies make fees and interest off of you and in my case I went from an high 700's credit score to a low 500's and I put $50k in the plan and am having to pay back $70k - ABSOLUTELY A SCAM - oh and good luck getting anyone to communicate electronically they do not want a paper trail.... you will love getting passed around but your questions will never get answered after the first 4 months because they know they have you at that point and could care less!!! About 3 years ago, I started debt settlement with Huron Law Group. I have been nothing but disappointed ever since. Within months, I was being sued by Discover bank, when I called the person I spoke with admitted they knew that Discover would sue instead of settle, as they always do. I feel I should have been given this information beforehand. They then raised my monthly payments to cover the cost of the lawsuit, which they settled at 80%. They saved me NOTHING on this debt, and actually cost me more than the debt itself with all of their fees, and the fact that I now have to pay income taxes on the 20% that was "forgiven" in the lawsuit. A year after "settling", they have payed off another debt, the smallest of the remaining three, but have yet to pay off the other two in the program. They have done less than half of what they said they would do, and now want me to extend the program for another year but can't guarantee that they will be able to settle the rest of my debts if I do so. I am supposed to be out of debt and finished with their program next month, but if they did less than half of what they had promised to begin with, how are they supposed to do the other 60% in roughly 1/3 of the time? They give nothing but empty promises. I've paid them over $12,000 already and all they have done is "settle" half that in debt. IT IS A SCAM!!! I would not recommend Huron Law Group to ANYONE looking for a good debt settlement company. They will lie to you, take your money, and get away with it, because they are lawyers, but obviously not good lawyers, considering thay settled my debt at 80%. And since they are lawyers, there is nothing you can do about it. GO WITH ANYONE ELSE! read more

Horrible experience! Spent $5k so far working on settling debt but have only got empty promises, lies and continuously ignored when trying to address concerns. For a nominal monthly fee, Huron Law Group's debt relief program saved me approximately 60% of my credit card debt. This was accomplished by their staff of paralegals who are savvy and experienced negotiators. What's nice is that third party collectors could not legally contact me once they were notified that I had attorney representation. Huron's debt relief program is not a "magic bullet" that instantly cured my debt problems--it took time and effort.
