I really tried to avoid writing this review as I know it will come off as bias because I'm that in LOVE with Steve Hurley and his work. Look, you want a straight drink no chaser, no BS - then this is the place. There's a reason other attorneys refer you to another attorney - not because of some HOCKUS racket but because there's someone better, more expertised (yes, I just wrote that) than the person you're talking to. It takes a secure person to be humble and honest enough to say 1) I can't but here 2) You should or could but it's up to you 3) Ok you want to know what I'll do I want what I pay for and sometimes a bit more when it's a big enough matter and this is the place for me. Aesthetically, the office is nice. Well appointed, good service for the cost and that's called VALUE, people. Hurley handles criminal Partner = Civil (real estate for one and Family for the other). He doesn't meddle in what you should or could do - simply lays out the law - how it may be applied to you and argues for what you want even when it's a lost cause. I seek his opinion on items he's not expertly labeled in and the reason why is simple... He won't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. I refer others to him even when it's not criminal as I value his opinion. See why I said it will come off as bias? I don't have a girl crush on this man nor would I care to what I do have is a strong affinity for no BS. There's no show here - just concrete items, IN WRITING, and I make my own live or die choices. They do accept credit cards, debit cards and the like. Drink offered upon arrival. Conflict check done before you can sit down in the most supple leather chair. Conference rooms not over done. He doesn't wear wingtips and over pried suits on a daily basis BUT WILL BRING IT FOR COURT and there where I want to see my money's worth. This office is more worried about getting clients and their money then they are in practicing law. I was pressured into singing a contract with them based on what they could do for me that was not accurate. My attorney accepted a plea deal on my behalf without talking to me before hand about it and I was blindsided. In repeatedly requesting my itemized bill and record from them, I finally received it after 2.5months and in it I had another clients discovery as well as in house emails that the team was mocking me and speaking ill of me. There was information that they used my case as a negation with the DA's office on another case, if I just plead guilty, another client would get a better deal. I was also billed almost $300 for emailing the owner to ask him if this is how he conducts business which he never replied and then billed another $200 for the meeting my lawyer had with the owner on the email I sent. This firm is a bunch of crooks. My bill was padded so that every last cent I gave them was "accounted" for when the reality is they did not meet expectations and they are worse then most criminals they represent.
