CASH ONLY! What a difference 4 years makes! The last visit wasn't one to be boastful about. It was a sh*t show half the time with our boat's engine dying every ten minutes, and when it did run, the boat moved ever SOOOO slow. I almost made a vow to never stop by here ever again. But with GodNiece's first time in Pangasinan, Hundred Islands was a must go-to for her. With a tad bit of reluctance, we went. I noticed an improvement in the area's overall appearance IMMEDIATELY. Parking was abundant and clean. The welcoming area is beautifully designed which included a pond filled with koi fish and small replicas of the islands. The entry way to the boats even had an arc. It was quite welcoming. The tourist center could use a little work: FIRST: it was CASH ONLY (for everything!) which is a huge no-no for a tourist attraction as famed as this place is. (One would reasonably assume they take cards, right?!) Now, keep in mind that this place is so much more fun when visiting with somewhat of a big party (we were a mere party of 9.) It's a good thing I brought enough cash to cover everyone for everything they need (including activities.) I can only imagine the trouble some people had to go through to go back out, find a bank or ATM that's open and come right back. Oi. SECOND: I had to deal with three different receptionists just to complete the registration process - one to register each individual in my party, one for the fees and boat, and one for the deposit for the trash bags (I'll get back to this last one in a bit.) I don't see why I couldn't just deal with one person for the WHOLE thing. The only reason I can come up with as to why they do this is that maybe the need for a moderator since everything is paid in cash. (There's gotta be liability somewhere, right?) But yeah, It took way too long to just get these done. It's a good thing we were there early Friday morning on a non-peak season. (I can imagine the chaos of the crowd during the weekends, summer or peak seasons here!) It wasn't long before we got on our boat. First stop was Governor's island for the sole purpose of ziplining. (The last time I was here, it was THE only other thing to do other than swimming or snorkeling, and it was a short one at that.) It's a bit of a trek climbing up - the steps are completely uneven and steep. Although the ziplining peeps kept telling us to follow the path to the left, we kinda got lost (and ended up the other way.) We weren't the only ones, so SIGNS might be nice. The view was fantastic, I gotta admit, but dang, that was tiring as hell! But the few seconds ride was WORTH IT. You can see a different side of Hundred Islands' beauty from where you're zipping from. The trek back is just as strenuous (again, SIGNS telling us how to get back would be nice) but also worth it since you get to experience walking on the wobbling bridge. (That was interesting.) Then off to Quezon island where we relaxed a bit more and had lunch. Ziplining is also available (one long, one short) but they aren't as steep as the one at Governor's. We brought our own food and drinks, but food is available on the islant itself. A vendor came up to us selling fresh crabs (small and big ones alike) for a bargain. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. We did a lot of swimming and snorkeling around this area. Beautiful clear waters allowed us to see all the way to the bottom of the water. This never gets old. I was going to suggest going to Children's Island, but we were having such a great time, we just kicked it on this island for the rest of our visit. Oh, except for helmet diving. That was the best way to top off the day. I'm not gonna go into it, I will merely suggest you DO IT! The one practice I noticed with EVERYONE: every person was mindful of their trash. I bought an ice cream from a vendor. He took it upon himself to get the peeled off paper from me and put it in his own trash bag. In all honesty, I did not see one piece of trash anywhere. And the bit with the trash bag deposit? Fill up your bag with as much of your group's crap as you want. Once you return to the main island, they take your filled trash bag away from you AND they will return your deposit. (THIS IS AWESOME!) We all had a great day. I am so glad my family doesn't live too far away from here. I'm definitely going out of my way to come back the next time I come to the Philippines. TIP: Come EARLY. The earlier, the better! There's so much to do! (They also have banana boats and jet skiing now!) Now if only they could figure out a better system of payment (than with just cash) and eliminate the whole "line here, line there" at registration... read more

I came here with my family at the suggestion of my mom and aunts. We came here pretty early and for good reason. It gets pretty packed very quickly. There were 18 of us, so we reserved 2 boats. FYI once you get there, be prepared to be bombarded with people trying to sell you things. I already came across some of that that during my trip, however, there's more of it here. They literally come to your car and sell you things: sunglasses, sea shells, hats, etc. and they will follow you around. Granted this is how some people in the Philippines make their living, but I think there has to be some kind of boundary. That's just my personal opinion. The boat ride was not bad and the weather was perfect to visit the islands. We didn't visit every island because my group didn't want to, but we did stop by 2 of the islands. read more

I was vacationing in the Philippines with my family, and one of the cities we went to was Tarlac. With my father having gone to Hundred Islands during his youth, he decided to take us to this beautiful place. Although crowded, we were happy to have gone. The local carinderias here are delicious. We went to one called Yolly's (hopefully I spelled it correctly), and the food was delicious! We then went to rent a boat to go to some islands. Water was clear blue, and the beaches we went to were beautiful. I would recommend coming here. Though it might not be the prettiest in the Philippines, Hundred Islands definitely deserves to be considered one of the top contenders. read more

I didn't get the best treatment all the time I was in the Philippines because I'm black but Hundred Islands was so much fun. The boat ride was fun and quick. We visited so really nice island. We rented out the governor's home. I saw an island of bats! Islands of snakes. Zip lined. I love the Philippines. read more

This is definitely one off from my bucket list! First time I heard about Hundred Islands was in our History Class back at primary school. The print was in black and white but the place already looked like a paradise for me. I got to finally visit the place now that I´m on my 20s and it was heaven on Earth. The whole experience was so great! We hopped to a bunch of islands and got a whole boat all for me and my partner! There was 5 of us and we had a driver on a boat just for us for 3 hrs for $40. It was great! We were able to stop at 3 islands, hole, swim just relax and all the others we cruised all around them on a nice sunny day. Kids can hike and manage to do the whole trail without tiring out, our 3 1/2 yearold did it! The water was clear, no pollution. Huge zip line going in next year and there is overnight accommodations on that same island as well. Lots of fun. read more

The One Hundred Islands National Park is a main attraction in the city of Alaminos (Pangasinan province). My dad's hometown is nearby so we stayed a night at one of the hotels right across from the Alaminos Port. The hotel had a tour desk who helped us arrange our island hopping tour. Our boatmen picked us up from the hotel and lead us to our rented boat. We rented a large boat (big enough for 15 people and there were 10 of us..) for a day tour which cost about $35 USD. Our first stop was the Governor Island where you can climb up the steps to the viewing point and see a panoramic view of the islands. I believe you can also zipline from one side of the island. This is the best place to capture awesome photos of the National park. After, we hopped back in our boat and headed to the next island. Our next stop is Quezon Island. Quezon Island was nice and it's popular among families with kids because of its calm waters and there's a restaurant that serves good Filipino dishes! There's also a zipline activity you can do from one side of Quezon Island. It wasn't as high as the previous one we saw at Governor's island which makes it kid friendly. Anyway we ate at the restaurant which served some really good Philippine mangoes! Philippines' mangoes are the sweetest in the world and it pairs well with grilled foods! After our meal, we met up with our boatmen and headed to Children's Island. Make sure to grab a coconut ice cream from here for just .15 cents USD! The water at Children's Island was so calm and warm. We decided to stay here longer because the water was perfect! After our relaxing time at Children's Island we decided to head back to our hotel. Island hopping is a must in The Philippines so make sure to check out Hundred Islands Park when you're in the province of Pangasinan! read more

Five star for the beauty! 1 star for service at ziplining!! First time visit for my daughter. This place is beautiful no doubt. Unfortunately the only disappointment is the ziplining crew at the Governors island. My daughter wanted to zipline and she got one excuse after another either they're short hand (should have put a closed sign), they're at lunch and whatever the last excuse was, she finally walked away. On to the next island. I wish they can put someone in that area who wants to work not women who just sits and prefer to make excuses not to work. read more

Hundred Islands - Ziplining crew are lazy. - Local Flavor Near Me

You need to get up pretty early for the trip out to Hundred Islands. There are a lot of island to see and explore. There are a couple of high view points to see all around. There are two zip lines, one is over 540 meters each end on different islands. And for the children a smaller zip line on another island where you can get lunch. Please clean up after youselves. It is required for you to take your trash with you. It was clean when you got there. Leave it clean for the next person or group. I recommend snorkeling and zip lines before lunch. You have a better chance of keeping it down. There is also a cave you can dive in. "Hi tide only." And just a lot of things to see. I recommend two or more go on this adventure. The more the merrier as the saying goes. And if you really like it, look into an overnight stay on one of the few islands that have cabins. When you return you turn in your half to full trash bags, yes more than one for some. And they give you your deposit back. An assurance that everyone does their share of keeping the islands clean for the next group to explore. The cost is more than reasonable.
