So helpful to my friend who I'm sure is feeling afraid but putting on a brave face. The food they served looked great, they had a laundry service, and they were so very attentive. I can't fully speak to the stay since I wasn't staying myself but this is definitely a facility that seems worth checking out if you need.

Although she didn't care for it much (loss of independence, etc.) I thought it was a very nice facility. Her room was large, there was a big tv, tables and chairs in the room for family and a nice large private bathroom. The lobby area had places to sit with vending machines, puzzles, etc. Family can choose to wash their loved ones clothes on site in the nearby laundry room. The staff seemed very attentive and caring. The meals were hot, healthy and smelled great. We especially liked the "healing garden" located in the center courtyard for a place to get some fresh air and sunshine. Although no one probably wants to be in a place like this, when needed I thought they were very good.

There was a lot of thought and work that went into the mission, name, look of the building and even…read morethe concept. All of that, is just that, a marketing corporation front. They do not hold true to their mission, nor did a manager, when I asked if they knew what there company mission was. It is a building, with a lazy administrator and employees that do not seem to have any idea what there job is. It was dirty, sad, no laughter or smiles. People tucked away, out of site, until they last day. People that have lived a long life and have a life time of experience said that they do not have a voice and fear of what may happen if they speak up. I would never put someone that I love or 'anyone' here. Please do your homework, dig a little deeper, you owe it to your family!

Because that previous experience is so much fun and interesting working with great staff and wonderful residents, I thought volunteering there would be the perfect place. I called the office and spoke with a woman. I told her what I wanted to do but she was very rude. She transferred the call to another person. The next woman was just as rude as the previous one. I decided not to volunteer with Eastmont. I didn't want to surround myself with rude and grumpy staff. I did get a call from upper management. She was very kind. I appreciated her apologizing for her rude employees. Eastmont gives great care to its residents. I hope that never changes. Since renovating their facility/home, it is a beautiful and comfortable environment. I gave them a lower review so they will learn to hold people accountable. I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and being polite.

Mom played Bingo and won snacks, watched movies, was involved in Tasty Tuesday, participated in wonderful craft projects and there was also a a variety of entertainment brought in for the residents. Carol was a very caring person who made the residents feel special with every interaction. Sadly, Carol is leaving Eastmont May 2024 (budget cuts?). Eastmont will not be the same without Carol!
