UPDATE 2: my mother texted that she had recieved a fresh arrangement, with note that it had been delivered with apologies and that my costs were being refunded. I realize business is handled a bit differently in Humboldt, so I tip my hat to Diane and Wendy for doing the right thing in a manner I'd expect the same of anywhere else.
UPDATE 1: I called Tuesday, explained the results of the delivery, and Diane agreed to send the correct arrangement, rather than refund. Immediately called my mother to tell her the good news, only to astonishingly hear someone from the flower shop arrive to their house and reclaim the daisy arrangement. Flabbergasted, I immediately called the flower shop back and spoke to Wendy, who explained that was their usual practice with mistakes of that sort. I expressed to her that while I understood the reasoning, it was completely unacceptable and that a mistake like that becomes a sunk cost, not something to come back and repossess. I cancelled the corrected arrangement and confirmed my order would be fully refunded.
Nope. Called for a late Mother's Day arrangement, and was exceptionally casual and bantered with them that it would have been fine if they had been unable to accommodate. After asking what they had available, and them requesting what I'd like, I asked for a rose/carn arrangement ($50) with an additional balloon ($7) plus delivery ($5). Received a thanks from my mother hours later with a pic of a drab-looking white and yellow daisy/chrysanthemum/gladiola arrangement with a half-deflated balloon, which had crashed to the floor by the next morning. I never received a call back regarding a problem or being unable to fulfill the requested order. Will definitely be calling them and updating this review on monday.
I do realize they're likely trying their best on a busy day but this delivery is just maddening to me as I know they're in a small town and have a lock on the market. read more
