Humar is a seafood restaurant located in the city center of Oaxaca. It's not traditional Oaxacan fare but it is focused on coastal dishes. We made last minute reservations but they had plenty of available tables right when they opened. They have multiple floors and we were seated on the terrace on the top floor.
What I really liked were the aguachile shrimp verde ($250 MXN), octopus tacos ($105), tiraduto de atun ($250) and fried shrimp tacos ($90) which were my favorite. What I thought was good were the fish ceviche ($240), tuna tostadas ($180), and the fried fish tacos ($90).
Out of the restaurants we went to in Oaxaca this was our favorite. The seafood was fresh and the vibes were great. It's a great place to eat family-style so you try a little bit of everything. It is pricier than other restaurants in the area so you'll likely see more tourists than locals here. The rooftop felt so open and we had a good time with the sun beaming on us. read more
