I heard about them through my mum, fountain of all knowledge, and because thye were local I thought the least I could do was get an insurance quote. So I went to their website to find a contact telephone number and found an enquiries box, I thought that because it is the 21st century and all that maybe I should request a quote via this format so I did. The next day I received a phone call from a very friendly operator explaining all Purple Frogs price plans and policies. Located at 252 Ormeau Road in south Belfast, we have been in existence since the early 1960's and currently have around 8000 account holders. Membership is open to anyone who has something in common with the rest of our membership. In credit union parlance this is known as the common bond of membership. Generally that means if you live or work in central or south Belfast (including Carryduff) you should be able to join. I have the upmost respect for john as the advise he offers is so valuable and accurate. They are always willing to help out when they can which just makes them even more reliable. I admire the rational and point of Credit unions, allowing profits to be reinvested into the business to allow members to lend at lower rates than their commercial counterparts. This is particularly helpful for lower income members who need money but can't afford to have large initial repayments or extortionate interest costs. My girlfriend took a loan out from here to enable to her to get a new car as her oild car was dying and she didn't have the money to pay it off. The payment schedules here are very flexible and costs are reasonable. The staff here were very helpful, especially in regards to helping get payment from external bank accounts into their system to pay things off, so for this I can only applaud them. Their opening hours fluctuate thought so be careful to check the website to avoid disappointment!
