I hired Jim in late December to represent me in court since I live in Houston Texas…read more I paid him $1500 to represent me in court and to have my misdemeanor traffic ticket put onto a deferred judgment so that it will not go on my record. I received and email from Jim stating that they had taken care of the citations, but upon calling the courthouse found out that that was completely untrue. All Jim had to do was to contact the courthouse which i informed him of and he said he would fax it over. I waited for his reply but he never contacted me. Then I recieved a letter in the mail from the courthouse stating my court date was missed and i was found guilty of all charges. I didn't panic too much at this time because I figured I have a lawyer and it's all gonna be taken care of. After calling the courthouse for over three weeks straight trying to find out when this was being resolved because Jim would never call me back so I had to go through the courts to find out what was being done. So now I am told that I have a warrant for my arrest and I also have a record that is already been put onto my license which is now going to be suspended. So to make a long story short I paid $1500 to get a warrant and to be thrown into jail because of Jim Shaw. Upon researching Jim, it looks like he went to school for biology, and then a high school teacher and a real estate consultant. So stay far away from this attorney. DO NOT PAY UPFRONT. I am currently seeking advice from the Oklahoma Bar and will be pursuing legal a tion against this firm. You know wouldn't have been so bad if there would've been some communication, but not even a I,m sorry not even a let's see what we can do to figure this out. Just plain flat out ignored us. UPDATE: 10/27/2016 we contacted Jim Shaw after getting everything figured out with the courts, I requested that he made sure that nothing was going against my drivers license and that I had to pay a fee for not making it to court which he was to reimburse me for his negligence. We also left several messages with his assistant named Amber, requesting all the files from the court cases which she is required to handover to us. Here a few months later we have still yet to receive even a simple phone call from Jim Shaw letting me know that everything is OK (no worries I know all the people of the court personally now, so I do know everything is all right it's just the Jim never called, never reimbursed even after I heated discussion over the phone over him not showing up to court) or the court case files we requested or a reimbursement. I did agree to take this posting down if all that was accomplished. As you can see it's still posted. if it was up to me, Jim would be sitting in jail for theft. It is your right in the United States of America to get a fair trial. And with Jim not giving his customers a fair trial..........I believe all his rights and the licensing as a lawyer should be stripped from him. DO NOT HIRE, DO NOT PAY UP FRONT. if you decide to use this lawyer please use an app on your phone that will record all your conversations as I did, and keep all your records to show the court so that you can handle it yourself as I did. And once again it just wasn't Jim himself that dropped the ball, it was his whole firm including Amber the secretary as well, sorry she claimed to be his assistant. So it looks like this is the culture of this firm. BE VERY CAREFUL HIRING ANYONE FROM THIS OFFICE, As they can't even handle simple traffic tickets, I could only imagine how they would do in real cases.

My calls were screened and it is now oct 2018. My case still isn't settled. I was told by one aid a year ago that if I held out and let them take the physicians to court that I would receive a significant amount more. She has since been fired she also told me that they wouldn't take a higher percentage but I signed the contract without reading it fully and taking her word. A great mistake. That was not true either they received the extras. This is the first time I have ever been in an accident and the attorney received more than the person that was injured. They didn't do anything illegal but I feel it is morally unethical. You would think they were in the accident. To add insult to injury; my case went to court on June 29th 2018. It is Oct 19th 2018. Funds still haven't been disbursed. My breakdown was 7,650.00 Medical bills were settled at 1583.00 Attorney too 50 percent of the gross at 3,655.75 Left me with 2072.50 They didn't even split the court cost I had to eat all those too. I am 44 years old and this is by far the worse representation I have had by any attorney in any capacity. I even referred a client to them. Two weeks after I signed my contract. Their case has closed they were dissatisfied as well. I haven't received my referral from that case. I will never recommend this form to anyone. I hate I walked thru the door. The driver of the vehicle received 3000 dollars for the same accident a year ago. He didn't sell immediate medical attention. He in fact worked a week before he even spoke to his attorney. In my case I did everything right accept choose the right legal representation. Hopefully my post will save someone else from going thru this unsatisfactory representation.
