I was hesitant to park in Geyser Park's parking lot, as you've seen what the minerals can do to the tombstones in the adjacent cemetery. + Ample parking. + Only a 2min walk to the geyser. + Quiet, tranquil neighborhood. + Also conveniently a 1min drive from Octagon Springs Park, where you can safely taste the carbonated water yourself (42°39'35.7"N 111°36'09.7"W). + Octagon Springs Park's restroom is well-equipped.

I think it's fabulous of Union Pacific to have recovered and restored the train. Thank you, UP! The locomotive is under cover and entirely surrounded by a fence. They definitely do not want the curious climbing on it, or worse, damaging it. And it's perfectly okay to check it out from arm's length. The caption reads, "This miniature locomotive played an integral part in the history of Caribou County. When the dam at Alexander Reservoir was built in 1924, it hauled supplies to the dam. Trapped by rising water, the locomotive was abandoned. In 1976 the reservoir was drained for repairs, and the locomotive was uncovered. It was then lifted from its resting place, restored by Union Pacific Railroad, and presented to the city of Soda Springs. Save the Train Committee Boyd Mason, Chairman - Thomas Mathis, Advertising - Adrian Sasser - Jeffery Jones." [Review 17810 overall - 77 in Idaho - 1331 of 2022.]

They also have several interesting displays of commodes (including a personal portable one used by a duchess!), washing machines, soap and irons. He passed away last year, truly leaving a void in this world. The $10 entrance fee is worth it, because at this time, they offer you a choice of one of his excellent books! It is WELL worth the price of admission! The books are on the counter, left of the admission counter, so be sure to ask for yours! On the third floor is a display of the SPACE AGE era in America (striving with Russia). It covered the subsequent 'rocket' designs of vacuum cleaners. I couldn't help it, I laughed out loud while reading it! :D What I found interesting ; -Elizabeth of Bavaria's traveling commode (and HOW it worked) -WWII field latrine -The daunting DUST Victorians faced, and the first vacuum invented (horse drawn) -the goofy statues made out of cleaning & vacuum cleaner parts -all the vintage advertising & appliances -the video on how to clean a bathroom in three minutes! In their gift shop, they have an interesting mix of toys, cleaning tools, and other goodies. I ended up buying handy-dandy toilet brushes for my friends! Won't they be SO pleased?! SWEET!

What helped me feel a lot more comfortable was knowing that, while they could get close to us to create a full-on immersive experience, they weren't allowed to touch us. That made it exciting without being overwhelming or scary. It did take about an hour to get in since there was a group ahead of us, so I recommend not going if you're on a tight schedule. Also, the location was a bit tricky to find; the road leading there is kind of hidden, so give yourself some extra time to get there. Overall, I definitely recommend it if you're looking for something fun and interactive!

We are a local family that loves to spread joy and love all year here in Pocatello. Nikki and Frank grew up with a love for Halloween from childhood. We have been scaring together since 2015 and cannot wait to have you all back this year. When we first started we were open only on Halloween night at our little farm. We are now located in the D Barn at the Bannock County Event Center or often referred to as the Pocatello Fairgrounds. We also started with family and friends. Now we hire an awesome cast of local actors. Many are in High School and University Theater students. All of them are passionate about putting on a great show. Come check it out. Mind games and chills around every corner.
