I wanted to love it but didn't. The decor is beautiful inside and out. The views are beautiful and it's nice to walk on the boardwalk when done eating. You might even see Brightline go by but the food was not great. We ordered oysters and calamari as apps. I ordered a mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries had cinnamon and sugar. They didn't go well with the fish. Couldn't finish them. My husband really liked his cheeseburger, however, he ordered plantains as a side after confirming that they were green plantains. Turns out they were the yellow ones. He hates those. Waiter offered regular fries but he declined. Key lime pie was really good as well. Waiter reminded us that they do add 18% to all bills. $150 total including a corona and a soda. I don't think we'll be back if we're ever in the area again but it is nice if you just want to go for happy hour and apps, and the view.

In town visiting for the weekend and tried Hudson's for the first time last night. There is ample parking and valet that make it easy to find a spot. Upon walking up, the outside bar had throwback 2000s music playing which instantly puts you in a good mood and makes for good vibes! I ordered two espresso martinis which were delicious and the Parmesan crusted grouper. I thought the grouper was good, but could have been more tender. The dish overall was good. I loved sitting outside and being able to look at the river. Our waitress (I forgot her name) was extremely helpful and attentive. Would go back again!

The fantastic view of the river and Roosevelt Bridge is complimented by great service and excellent food. The only downside is the outrageous cost. More on that later. We started our meal with a shared iceberg lettuce which was iced cold (as it should be) and big enough for our party of three. Topped with a 6-minute egg and tons of Gorgonzola cheese, it was nicely presented and a great start to our meal. We than enjoyed the Mango Glazed Salmon, which was moist and very flavorful and accompanied by a great assortment of veggies. The Seared Ahi Tuna was cradled in an excellent guava sauce that made the dish. Finally, the Parmigiana Crusted Grouper was great. I often try grouper whenever offered and usually am greeted with a less than acceptable dry fish (especially when dining outside of Florida). However, the grouper here was an excellent choice as it was moist and fell away softly with every bite. All three dished were excellently presented and well crafted. We finished off our meals with the recommended key lime pie. Which could have been a bit tarter for my taste but was nice and creamy. One of our party had a glass of white wine, the other two had sparkling water. The down side to all of this was the outrageous cost of our meals. $210.00 for a party of three with only one drink! That's a pretty hefty price to pay for a meal in Stuart Florida. The bottom line for me is was the value versus the price. The question always comes down to... is the experience worth the price... would we come back? The answer, although a great meal, to all in our party, the experience was not up to the expense and accordingly, we'll leave Hudson On The River as a one off experience... good but not good enough to warrant the expense.

Walked in with a large party of 7 with no reservation and we were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and provided excellent service. We visit the area annually and will make sure to stop by Hudson's next time we're in town because of today's experience. The food came out promptly and was incredible in both presentation and flavor. Really enjoyed the wide variety of their menu; there was something for everyone. You get great service, a great view and quality food.

So first off, when we walked into Hudson's we were greeted by very sweet woman, the decor was boho cheek and oh so pretty. I was curious about the little tiki hut attached to the West side of the building (Harlow's Hideout). The hostess explained that happy hour was served at all of the tables out there and it was also the same company, so she "wouldn't be offended" and she said we could head out and seat ourselves (first come first serve). We must have arrived at the perfect time, so we had the choice of any high top. A young girl named Taylor was our bartender/waitress and she had the best personality and she knew her menu...oh and she also knew how to make a great marg! Their happy hour appetizer options were right up our alley. We order probably about 4 rounds of the crispy tuna bites, which is their take on crispy rice! Let me tell you they did not disappoint! We also ordered 2 rounds of the deviled eggs! Definitely the best deviled eggs I have had (besides my own of course). They did not skimp on the filling and you could tell they used all of the OG ingredients! We also tried the sliders, my husband loved them, but he also likes his meat well cooked and semi dry, I'm not saying they were bad, they tasted clean/healthy, maybe some special sauce would do the trick! Harlow's Hideout definitely fills up quick around 4, so I'd say get there before that! Especially if you want to take advantage of happy hour 2-6! So yeah, Hudson's/Harlow's was bomb, we will be back!

Calamari - best I've ever eaten
    Tina W.

We had a reservation for today NY's Day... beautiful restaurant with water view, lovely decor. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. It was the best calamari I have ever eaten... very lightly fried, tender, delicious - 2 sauces. I ordered the Asian chicken salad - the server said it was spicy and I said great... however I didn't find it to be spicy at all. It was tasty. My husband had the duck and he was very happy with it. Other friend ordered clam chowder and the brussel sprout salad which looked amazing. I will try that next time. Our server was very nice and pretty attentive. Another server / runner took my knife and my friend had clam chowder which didn't have a soup spoon. We asked the food runner for a knife and soup spoon but that person didn't come back. So we had to flag down the server for utensils. I was surprised to be charged for 2 cups of coffee - I guess refills are no longer a thing.. $5.00 per cup, no refill. Overall the food and service was good with a misstep or two. We would return to this restaurant.

We ate here for lunch today and the food was yummy and the view was beautiful! I had the panko crusted grouper that came with a sauce it was delicious.

A cute drink that packs a punch. This definitely is a true spicy margarita. The onlook of the ocean makes it even better.

My sister and I once a month meet for lunch, usually go to the other restaurants in the downtown area. This was a Saturday. The restaurant was pretty empty. We decided to try it, since it was new. It's off season for Florida. I like that it's away from traffic and close to the river, but not on the river. We ordered several appetizers, Tuna stack, it was good with toast on the side. I would have preferred wonton chips or tortilla chips. We also had the crab fritters, these were delicious and plentiful for two people and the Burrata salad. We wanted the Brussels sprouts, but they were out so the chef prepared Bok Choi instead. Equally delicious. We ordered an infused cucumber refreshing cocktail. The service was very good. The owner stopped by our table, to ask how we liked it. He was gracious and told us his story how he bought the placed and design a menu along with the Chef. That was a plus. They also have music for dinner. Parking is street. The Tram goes around and it will leave you at this restaurant from the large parking lot. Please note there's a green market on Sunday's so the parking lot is usually full.

We saw a lot of great reviews for Sauder's Landing…read more First downside is you are required to hand over your driver's license to a security guard to enter the island. He had it for a while, God only knows what data base I'm now part of, but hey, great reviews, let's go. The guard gave my license back as well as a parking permit. Asked about the restaurant, he said drive to the stop sign and turn left. There's a row of shops and a Sauders sign. Did get a tiny bit confusing...none of the storefronts was Sauders. There was a dingy looking alley opening...found them. Walking down this dingy alley (there were three old window a/c units running up high, I mean old, tired, dirty and all three are dripping water into buckets below them on the concrete). We get to a tired residential screen door and that is the entrance. We were greeted right away. Said two for dinner. The hostess asked if we had reservations...we said no. We asked to sit inside. This is not the restaurants fault, but the marina is under construction, there are no docks or boats outside the windows, just rebar and dirt, however the windows and screens were dirty. There are dive bars and old restaurants with charm, Sauders is neither. Inside it just looks very tired and extremely dated You know how Restaurant Impossible or Bar Rescue showes usually start, with John Tapper and Robert Irving having a lot to say. They would have a lot to say at Sauder's. Carolyn, our server, lived up to the reviews that mention her. She was prompt, knew all the specials and did a good job throughout our meal. We ordered some Calemari. The batter was falling off, so if you tried to pick up a piece, you basically had a piece of squid. The marinara sauce was hot and had a good flavor. We had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. There were plenty of shrimp. Tha pasta was spaghetti, not linguine, but cooked properly. Could have had a little more sauce but tasted OK. The meal came with a salad. Everything was fresh, cold and crisp. Carolyn informed us the thousand island was made at the restaurant and it was OK. Summary...the food was ok, the dining room was tired, oh yeah, the rest rooms were behind doors rusting under their paint in that dingy alley and my wife said the one she went into was not nice. I honestly don't know how you could give this a 4 or 5 rating. If I knew what we were going to experience, I'd never give my driver's license to that guard and we would find another of the many seafood places in town. Sorry Sauder's, you need to make an investment in your business.

It had a pizza dough topper that was puffed up with the clams, linguica & broth nice and steamy underneath. It was an amazing preparation and the dough helped tame some of the spiciness from the linguica. We all said we would come back. I would give this restaurant a solid 4.5 stars as the refill of our water was a big sluggish. Since you cannot rate in 1/2 star increments, I gave it a 5.

It ended up being a great find! The restaurant is spacious with huge windows overlooking the water, which I absolutely loved. It was much too hot to sit outside, so we enjoyed the view from an inside table. We decided to split the steamed clams (without the sausage) and a lobster bisque for lunch. Our server, Sydney, was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. The clams were served inside a bread-like pastry. My husband especially enjoyed that part, while I skipped the bread and dug right into the clams--they were fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and just as good. One unexpected bit of entertainment came from the couple seated next to us. It sounded like they were on a first date, and while I certainly wasn't trying to eavesdrop, they were talking so loudly it was impossible not to overhear! They seemed to be having a wonderful time, and it added a lighthearted touch to our lunch. Hope springs eternal! Overall, I was very happy with both our meal and the beautiful waterfront setting. I'd definitely stop here again the next time we're passing through Stuart. The only thing that gave me pause was the dinner menu, which looked a bit pricey, but for lunch this was a very enjoyable stop. You don't need a reservation for lunch so that was a plus. But, don't let that first impression fool you. THE AMBIANCE: Once you climb the stairs (yes they have an outdoor elevator), you'll enter a wide expanse of the St Lucie River with hundreds of boats at dock. The view is simply stunning. You can choose to sit inside (why you'd make this choice is beyond me), or if you like music, choose the active fun loving crowd on the patio bar or dine dockside where you'll have an expansive view of the river. We chose the latter. Either way, this is an experience dining unlike any other in the Stuart area. THE SERVICE: We were served by Anna. With a smile and a an enthusiasm that showed she loved her job, she explained a bit of the history of the restaurant and gave a thorough overview of the offerings. Anna was a servers server who knew when to stop by without being intrusive, when to fill our glasses and when to be there when we needed her. I'm not sure if all the serving staff are as good as Anna but, If you're lucky enough to get one of her tables count your blessings. Even the buss boys served with a smile and efficiency that you don't often see. On one occasion one of our party spilled catchup and asked for an additional napkin. The buss boy didn't go and tell the server (which is the norm) but instead "immediately" returned with a napkin and cleaned the spill himself. In today's "I hate my job" world, it was so nice to experience a time when staff served with a smile that conveyed "I love my job"! THE FOOD: For our appetiser, we chose to share a bowl of their Maryland Crab Soup. The menu states "Tomato broth, vegetables, crab meat". Doesn't sound like much, right? But, don't let that simple description fool you, this slightly spicy soup was a delicious meal in itself. I highly recommend you share a bowl if you intend to leave room for an entree. For our entrees, my lovely bride chose to start with the Tide Chopped Salad which features fresh greens, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, radish, and avocado, graced with an outstanding sherry vinaigrette. From there she chose the Steak and Shrimp combo which featured a 10oz NY Strip & 3 jumbo fried shrimp. She added the garlic mashed potatoes. Her mashed potatoes were scrumptious and her jumbo shrimp combined a crispy breadcrumb topping complimenting the juicy shrimp within. Tough and a bit grizzly, unfortunately, the steak was the outlier to the rest of the dish. I chose the Steak & Cake combo with coconut rice and macaroni and cheese sides. Because they're usually bread cakes with a few pieces of crab hidden throughout, I'm not usually a crab cake lover but, Anna Banana (her suggestion of a name) convinced me that, because the new owner came from Maryland and brought with him his family crab cake recipe, I needed to "experience" the best crab cake I'll ever have, and so, I took the plunge. Sadly, my steak was just as poor a cut of beef as my wife's but those crab cakes... oh those crab cakes were everything Anna Banana said, and than some! I've never had a crab cake that came close! The crab cakes come with a mustard base dipping sauce but, believe me, you'll not want to mar the perfection by dipping. My sides were also great. The coconut rice was not overpowering with just a hint of coconut as an aftertaste and my macaroni & cheese (which I don't usually order unless I have kids with me) was creamy and cheesy. For dessert, we decided to try the Key Lime pie. Not sure about the rest of the desserts but the Key Lime pie was a definite winner with just the right tartness resting on a tasty graham cracker crust (as a true Key Lime pie should have) and a wonderfully creamy texture. THE BOTTOM LINE: As with all my reviews the "customer so what" is would I come back? Even though I'd stay away from the steaks, you bet I'd come back! I would ask for the deck dining room, be seated in Anna "Bananas" serving area and make sure I included those out of this world crab cakes in my meal!

We've mentioned it to management several times however they seem surprised (& unconcerned) each time. Routinely the service is good, food is good....however they are not focused on customer service. They are often more concerned with closing the restaurant than providing great customer service as well as honoring their published hours. On more than one occasion, we have called to place a to go order and they have closed the kitchen early (after being told by the server, they would not close before 10p that Friday night). Also on more than one occasion, they have a bar full of people (wanting to stay, drink & spend more $$) and they bring the check to close the tab so the staff (or manager!) can leave. AND this all has happened during OFF SEASON! Being well educated in the hospitality industry, it's clear to me Tidehouse is not well run from the top down. This is unfortunate since it's such a perfect location with beautiful views.
