Stopped at this cute place on the water for some appetizers. The place is really cute and decorated nice. They have a huge patio which they were not seating due to forecast of rain. We got a beer and non-alcoholic drink. Ordered the chowder which was good. Coconut shrimp was ok too. We ordered the yucca fries based on the server recommending those over regular fries. The yucca fries were terrible. No flavor and very dry. Service was ok. So overall it's a beautiful place but the food did not make up for the lack of flavor of the food and so-so service. If you're looking for a beautiful place on water for drinks- this might be your place. For us we appreciate flavorful food. read more

Hudson's on the river. Hudson's on the River is a beautiful Restaurant, fantastic location, wonderful outside table area with views of the River. So very pretty. We only ordered appys and drinks. Coconut colada was terrific, Mike had a beer. We ordered mussels, and empanadas. Both we good but not great. Menu was interesting. I had never seen an octopus hotdog. Not my thing but must be someone's We got there around 530 Pm and asked about Happy Hour. They do not have one so everything was full price and pricy. Was treated unbelievable bad by waitress and management. My guest took a picture of the waitress taking a picture of a customer. The picture my guest took was of her backside which had tattoos. (his daughter was going to get tattooed and he was going to show it to her. When the waitress walked by, my guest showed the picture to her, She went nuts and attacked my guest, throwing f bombs and tried to take his phone. Then went inside and management came out and told us we had to leave. We had just been served our lunch but was not allowed to finish but had to pay for it. This was handled soooo poorly by them. It has been a few month but it still frosts me when I think about. I was a frequent visitor of both this location as whelp as Townes and now am going to boycott all their locations. I am 71 years old and have never been treated so poorly. If they wanted us to leave fine but don't ask us to leave and still tell us we needed to pay for the food or they will "Call the cops". I miss the quiet, little Pelican Cafe. A place on the water where you could hear the boats, the water lapping and even an eventual cast of a fishing pole. We'll, if you sit indoors, you won't even be able to hear your own thoughts. The management and staff (not all but too many) act as if they're doing you a favor by allowing you to dine with them. They've become a Stuart meets the snobby Hamptons. AND the food is good NOT great. My Spider roll had almost no crab. They've overpriced their oysters at about $24/ 1/2 dozen and my friend's fish salad was too raw. I believe it was wahoo. The rest was ok. Went there for dinner twice in the past two weeks and both times had a similar experience. The restaurant is bright, well-lit in the evening, nice views of the St. Lucie River, and it always looks very clean. Many of the menu items offer a good value - like the Mahi Sandwich, the Shrimp & Scallop Sandwich, or the River Skewer (choice of veggies only, meats, or seafood). Went to Hudson's for dinner with my family when they were visiting. That was a HUGE mistake. We have been there three times so WE FIGURED THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE KINKS OUT. So here is our review... Wait staff was courteous and efficient Food was ... just ok but they brought my grandson chicken fingers instead of fish (and he is vegetarian) Much better food elsewhere in the city! The NOISE LEVEL was so bad we had to shout at each other to be heard. They are playing music at ear splitting levels to make it worse. We asked if it could be turned down TWICE to no avail. It was SO COLD we made a trip outside to warm up. We once again asked if it could be adjusted to no avail. We would love to see this place succeed but will not go back. After four tries (same each time), we're DONE! read more

I went over the weekend with my family and we were very excited to try this new restaurant. Our first impression of the place was great as it was visually beautiful inside and out. However the food and service was horrible. We ordered a bottle of wine and it came boiling hot like if it was next to a hot stove. In addition we decided to order our appetizers and meal at the same time. After 45 MINUTES we finally got our appetizers. Appetizers were good but nothing special. We then got HALF our meals. When our waitress came to check on our table she saw that we were missing two meals (mind you it's only four of us) she then proceeded to call the manager. The manager came to our table and apologized saying they are starting the meals now and comped us a partial credit. We didn't know what happened either the waitress forgot to input our order or the kitchen staff just completely missed our meals. At this point it's been 2 hours we've been at our table, it was late and the couple decided not to eat and refused not to have it boxed. We left disappointed and will not be back. read more

This afternoon we decided to try Hudson on the River in Stuart. As we approached the restaurant the GM, Tom Riley, welcomed us to the restaurant. The service was superb. We were highly impressed with the decor and ambience. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating, and outdoor was too good to pass up. Chris our waiter provided input on the various entrees. We chose a short rib dinner and a hamburger. In addition we had the chili soup and corn chowder - Excellent choices! The short rib was super tender and the burger, complemented with the Yuca Fries was cooked to perfection. Overall - we give this restaurant a five star rating. read more

Hudson on the River is the newest spot in Stuart for a weekend date night! This place is so fun and trendy. The food is delicious and there are options for every diet! The food is unique and the drinks are delicious. It is on the pricier side but it matches the downtown Stuart vibes. They have a DJ spinning music which is super fun! The atmosphere was so nice and perfect place for lunch or dinner. -Shrimp & Scallop Sandwich: AMAZING so delicious, add avocado! - Duck Confit Sandwich: duck was yummy but lots of bread, I suggest extra teriyaki sauce on side and take off top bun. What an awful experience. We left before we could even get drinks. The restaurant was empty. We called the day before to see if we could add another person. The hostess told us "no, we are completely booked". We get there and it's about 30% full. They put us at a table right next to the band. It is completely WILD to me that the bartender Alex, whom barely was able to slur her name to me was drinking the way she was. While the, I'd assume female manager, came out on multiple occasions to throw a few back with her. There was an obnoxious bar guest that should have been cut off, but the drunk bartender continued to serve him. I felt horrible for the little one who was running around like crazy while the other was just drinking herself to an abyss. Do better. read more

If there was a no star rating I would have awarded it after our experience. To start it was a chilly and windy evening and the outside heaters were not set up. When I inquired about them I was told they were in storage. We four were seated outside by Hannah. Fifteen minutes later she reappeared to take our drink order . Another long wait the drinks arrived and the dinner order was sent to the kitchen. After many excuses and I'm stories from practically the entire staff explaining that a large birthday party ( the owners family) was the cause for the delay for our dinner to be served. Finally an hour and a half after being seated we were served cold ,soggy "food". The manager never came over or offered to make any compensation or apologize. Probably our favorite Happy Hour (M-F 3-6pm)! We love sitting at the large bar, great views of the water. They have my favorite Pinot Noir as a House Wine, 1/2 off. Also our absolute favorite Happy Hour appetizer-a Tempura Shrimp Roll. Gotta love a Happy Hour where you can get Sushi!!! This has become our go-to place for Happy Hour about once every week. I took my wife and two service dogs for dinner on the patio. The meal was FABULOUS as was my waitress. I had on a sweatshirt...with the front pocket. We were literally seated next to th little "pond". As i reached into the pocket...DISASTER STRUCK!! MY 2 day old $1000+ top of the line SAMSUNG FLIP PHONE slid out my pocket and right into the 2' deep water. All the other customers on the deck saw it happen and a collective "OH NOOOO" went out. Well the waitress {Katleen?) immediately was on it!!! 2 MINUTES later.. who comes to the rrescue..??? JOHN THE CHEF!!!! HE HAD A HAND HELD PICKER UPPER UTENSIL about 20" long.. He first has to climb over large rocks with no protection in order to put feet on the ledge, grab the patio handlle and work his way at least 20' in order to reach in and pickup my phone.!!! MY MAN OIF ACTION! MY hERO...and HE'S ONE HELL OF A CHEF! AND the SAMSUNG still works!!!! These Folks are what make this fine eatery literally a BIG step above the rest!!!!
