I fell off a horse onto my head about 7 years ago and severely messed up my neck, but would rather be in excruciating pain rather than go to a chiropractor. Finally about 2 years ago, my arm was going numb and I was pretty much in a permanent state of crying because of a the back/neck pain... so I went to Dr. Young. The first time I went in, before he even did a single thing I burst out into hysterical sobs. Beats me why, but I guess I was freaking out. He just sat there with me until I calmed down, happy to move with me at MY pace. By the time I left the office that day (even doing minimal work so I could ease myself into the idea), I was already looser and had better, less painful movement of my neck and arm. He continued to work with me whenever I could make it down from St. Louis, and always was happy to stop whenever I needed to calm down from working myself into a tizzy over neck work. Then, while working as a nanny, my lower back gave out. I couldn't stand up much less walk. Over the next 4 days, he saw me 3 times a day to work a little at a time until I could stand up, then until I could walk without terrible pain. Even though my insurance wouldn't pay for 3 visits each day, he was dedicated to helping me so I could get back to work as soon as possible. For this, I thank you, Dr. Young, and I highly recommend him to anyone who is even the vaguest bit wary about going to a chiropractor. He is the best! -- also does accupuncture, but I'm still working up the nerve to that :)

I called several times before the appt to just make sure of the price. We went to the appt and paid $400. At no time were we told that this was a down payment, or partial payment or that insurance could be used or that we would be receiving a $200 bill a month later. When something is not covered by insurance and you have to self pay any office wants all the money upfront or they will make payment arrangements. Never do they let you walk out owing $200 knowing you may or may not pay it. I called the billing office three times after receiving three bills. The first two times I was told we should not get a bill and that if we got another in the mail to let her know. On the third bill I called the actual office and pretended to inquire about their stem cell. I was told again no hidden fees and $400. This office is a joke and a money making scam. They charge you well over $100 for an office visit. They charge you to draw your blood and then to spin it. Then they charge $400 for this dr to inject your blood back into you. No one explained this to us. Just that it was $400. Horrible office. Horrible staff and the doctor is obviously about the all mighty buck and not the patients he took an oath for. SAD!

So - massage was just fine, atmosphere was not so great. They are in a tiny portion of a strip mall 'type' building, and each room is small. Small isn't bad, but having a lamp in the corner (which is on the entire time!) and putting a pillow case over your eyes as a mask was - um, different... To top it, the clock went tick, tick, tick during the entire massage. I know we need to keep time, but lets get a quiet clock; almost made me feel nervous, like ok 5 minutes to go, 3 minutes to go, etc.!
