After a Greek salad, which was only partially that style, I had the veal liver which was served with mushrooms and rice. Really tasty. Others in the group had dishes including Veal Schnitzel, Goulash, and lasagna. Most were pretty good. The staff was efficient and helpful and they had a full drink selection including wine, beer and simple cocktails. And the price was decent too. I visited in December, when it was still a little mild to give you that full Winter Wonderland feeling, but the service, food and price are top quality. If you are in the neighbourhood, then you should pay this restaurant a visit.

On one side a terrace overlooks the mighty Wilder Kaiser and the other a lawn shaded by old trees. Inside the decor is Austrian country house and the guests likely to be smart. The food - all local produce - will be imaginatively prepared in Austrian nouvelle style, but try and hold on for the sensational puddings - particularly the lovely heidelbeern (known locally as moosbeern and to me as myrtille)- pudding - but you'll have to be there in summer to get it. The local wines are absolutely delicious and although you will find plenty of the now internationally fashionable white Grüner Veltliner, try the red Zweigelt -Johann Topf or others - as well. This is a place for a very long weekend.

The grounds surrounding the restaurant look like the hills in the classic movie "The Sound of Music" and I saw people walking up and down the gentle green hills... this is a great place to take kids! The food is really incredible and it's quite reasonable considering it's in pricey Kitzbühel. You order inside and food is brought to your table. I had the most incredible soup made with celery and spices - Pikante Selleriesuppe. Also tried the classic liver dumpling soup - Leberknödelsuppe, which was delicious. One of their specialties is the fried chicken salad, which was really good. It was kind of like a chicken schnitzel sliced with a green salad. And the desserts are absolutely incredible. Try their traditional Apfelräder (Tyrolean apple fritters). And the apple strudel is also fantastic. This is a beautiful casual restaurant. It's the perfect place to sit outside for lunch on a sunny day.
