Waited 10+ minutes to get checked-in and there was only 1 party ahead of us. Staff was a bit curt - may have been due to check-in wait time. Rooms: Clean and comfortable. Solid wifi connectivity & electrical ports located near beds for convenient change. Card is required for floor access - good for security but makes it difficult to visit rooms of friends. Food: Breakfast served until later in the morning, so unable to eat before morning flight. Cold sandwiches and drinks sold at reception desk, but prices are high. Bottom Line: Not a bad stay, but more staff is likely needed. Would stay in other location nearer to airport or city.

Our private lounge was smallish and crowded and the tables and chairs were arranged in groups just as in a restaurant. I had expected a comfortable lounge chair- maybe like a business class airline seat but these chairs were like cafeteria chairs. There were some complimentary snacks but pretty ordinary: crackers, tea and coffee, veggies with a dip for more healthful fare. That was about it. None of it tempted me for a second. As for the prospect of sitting in the cafeteria-style chairs for two hours, I eventually abandoned this lounge and found a more comfortable location in another part of the ship. Skip Comfort Class is my advice.

We took the Star ship twice from Helsinki, Finland to Tallinn, Estonia and vice versa. It looked…read morelike they converted an old cruise ship to an oversized ferry. The ship was spacious and had plenty of space to hold all the passengers. There were lounges and plenty of seating. They had a cafeteria, Burger King, and duty free shopping. They also had a supermarket where you could buy items in bulk. The most popular items were crates of beer and alcohol. Cars and trucks could drive onto the ferry/ship too so if any of you rent a car-- I'm sure you can easily take this to expand your itinerary. You can book your ticket online and then check in. Upon checkin, they'll check your passport. You board the ship about 30-45 minutes before departure. It took us approximately 2 hours to get from one port to the next.

As far as bus terminals, this one is one of the easiest to go in and out of. Plenty of shopping on…read moreone level to pick up what ever you need for your journey. Everything is properly labeled here so once you get your ticket, it'll tell you what gate your bus is leaving from and it'll be clearly marked. Busses seem to always be on time as well which is a huge plus and there's wifi both on the bus and at the station. If you're going to Provoo or Turku by bus, you'll want to leave from here.

There were at least three floors of stores and restaurants and we ended up visiting here a few times for both bus routes and a second hand store we wanted to visit called Moody Monday. Bus tickets are very reasonable. Given how large the building was, it took us a few minutes to figure out where we were headed. Overall, an impressive transportation hub.

At the surface, the station is underneath a decent shopping mall with quite a lot of retail shopping. Like other Helsinki stations I visited, it is clean and well lit and handicapped accessible.
