About a month in, we came home to 90 degrees inside, so we made a warranty claim and Wilkins Air Care came out the next morning...in the rain. That's when I met Paul Wilkins and Mike, his tech. Of course, the problem was OUTSIDE at the condenser. They both got drenched, but they found the problem, replaced some parts and had us cooling off within an hour. Despite the soaking, they were pleasant and professional. Over the next year, the HVAC system conked out twice more, each time it was something different, I made a warranty claim, and each time Wilkins Air Care responded promptly and got us running again in short order. During these months, I really came to appreciate their office manager, Lynnette, due to her friendliness and efficiency. I knew that once I had Lynnette on the phone, we would be taken care of in good order. I also established a good rapport with Paul Wilkins, the owner of the business. He earned my trust and respect because he not only knew his stuff, but he communicated well with me, he gets his hands dirty, sweats with his crew and he is just so darned NICE! During these months, I came to realize that my HVAC system was the original with the house, nearly 25 years old, and highly inefficient. I had done a lot of online research about replacing my whole system, what equipment I thought I could afford, and what I expected to spend. On one of Paul's now regular visits to my house to get my dilapidated a/c running again, I asked him about a complete system replacement. He said he would get me some numbers. In a couple days, by email, Paul recommended two respected brand-name systems, both at considerably less than what my research had shown. Lynnette got all of my subsequent questions answered. I did not shop at all for other estimates. What was being recommended was excellent equipment at a great price, and I had come to know Paul well enough that I knew he was trustworthy. The full system replacement was done in less than a day with Paul and Mike leading the effort, assisted by Dylan. They did a great job and were really pleasant to be around. A cleaner crew I have never had at my house! Anyone would be pleased to have these guys doing your HVAC work. Next morning, by email, Lynnette sent all my warranty paperwork as well as the invoice, which was to the penny of what I was expecting. It is an easy check to write! It is a pleasure to HIGHLY recommend Wilkins Air Care.

This is an upstairs A/C that was leaking through the ceiling and down the walls. When we called back we were told that no one could come back today and that it would be after lunch tomorrow before someone could come back out here to do the job they should have done right today. Notice it is July 7 and very hot. This is the company the home warranty sent out. Just save yourself the heartache.

I called because the washing machine draining caused a backup in a tub and toilet. Fernando came out, ran a snake, told my wife the septic was backed up, called a friend, told my wife the septic was fine (just keep adding Rid-x), ran the snake from the roof vents, replaced the flange on the toilet and reset it, and left a $589 ticket that says, "Everything is Good". Not even two full days later, the same drains were backing up when the washing machine tried to drain. Fernando didn't even make it to the house before calling to say he told my wife it was a septic problem. Yeah buddy, but you also said it wasn't a septic problem and put in writing that, "Everything is Good", so how am I supposed to know what is really going on? Fernando then told my mother-in-law that he needed to talk to me, but didn't call me directly. He left a ticket with a charge of $180, but said he wasn't going to collect - The office confirmed this was a callback situation when I talked to them, so him writing a ticket was highly unprofessional. Everything about my interaction with Fernando was less than professional, which is really disappointing because I have great experiences when Duncan send out HVAC technicians.
