Good place for an insult. A washer or decent customer service, not so much…read more We found the washer we wanted--repaired, of course--from Febles' Tallahassee location, near our house. We were uncertain given the reviews, but went for it because they offered a 120-day repair warranty. 94 days after they installed it, I smelled smoke during a load. Ran to the washer, stopped the spin cycle, and opened it to find smoke billowing out and burn marks all over the crumbled rubber of the gasket. It was clearly spinning off-center. I tried calling and texting the shop repeatedly, to no avail. In desperation, with a few days left on the warranty, I called this Georgia location to see if they were affiliated and could tell me what was happening. They told me the Tallahassee location was closed. (Maybe put that on the website and phone message? One never knows whether to trust Google Maps info.) I asked if they could still honor the warranty. The staff person tried to claim it was out of warranty, then once corrected ask for proof of purchase (fair) and had to call me back a few times, but she was ultimately able to say I could bring it in to Georgia for repairs in the next few days. I thanked her but hesitated, noting that driving an hour and a half to Georgia to be told, in all likelihood, that it couldn't easily be repaired (seems like a cracked tub arm) was not what we signed up for when we bought it counting on the warranty. She said she'd call me back. I soon received a call from the irate owner informing me, in ever-rising tones, that I had to bring it to Georgia for repairs, and they hadn't expected to close the Tallahassee branch, and the reason they'd had to close it was "BECAUSE OF CLIENTS LIKE YOU! YES, LIKE YOU! So listen to me, you can either bring it here or you can SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS!! click" Great customer service would have meant looking for options: offering a partial refund, or a discount on some other item (wouldn't have been able to take it, but would have been a nice gesture), etc. Acceptable customer service would have been, "Sorry, it's an unfortunate situation for everyone, but repair is all we can offer given the unexpected circumstances." It would still have been concerning that their products seem so often inadequately repaired, but I would have respected that response. What I do not respect is losing her shit and insulting me. Running a small business is hard. That's no excuse for selling faulty products or taking out your anger on your customers. Maybe look inside before blaming customers for your problems.
