My food card would deactivate randomly and I would go days without food, my card for the garage would malfunction and I would be locked in the garage because of this, I had my belongings stolen from roommates that I was paired with and when I made a report they did nothing about it, I moved into their dorms only to move in with an old friend of mine, and they went out of their way to make sure I did not get a dorms with him even though all the requirements were met. This school struggles in the class departments too, I have had the displeasure of meeting quite a few nasty professors and find it disheartening for all the students here. I was charged for 2 years of dormitory and a meal plan even though I was only there for one and when I went to dispute the charge they simply ignored my email and then sent me an email to pay it back and said it was to late to dispute the charges. I honestly recommend no one goes to this location for their schooling and I hope this school finds new management because it is just a money hungry organization that does not care about its students.

It's kind of in a neighborhood so it's very quiet and I feel safe when I am leaving or going to class in the evening. The majority of the study body are adults who work full-time or a SAHM who are seeking to earn a degree from a creditable University. The prices for tuition is not as steep as UH main campus. I do wish the library was bigger and the campus stayed open later than 10 pm. It's pretty cool that on random nights they give free snacks/ pizza and drinks for the students. Main Stage theater is the largest, while the Black Box is a very intimate setting, and you can peruse Bosque Gallery showcasing students art. Financial aid covered my courses, and I worked hard to make the Dean's list each semester. LSC screwed up and accidentally dropped me from a class. I tried numerous times to get the issue resolved so my financial aid would not be affected, and continued to attend the class every day. My advisor was never available, and by the time I was added back to the class, it was the end of the semester. Due to their screw up, I did not meet the attendance requirement to claim my financial aid, and the funds were retracted. Now LSC is charging me, even though I had nearly 10k of grants to cover my tuition. Now I am unable to continue my education. I have called the billing office numerous times and they hang up on me. I've learned next to nothing during my time at Fortis Institute because the teachers do not engage or assist in any meaningful way. I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am with this school. Very unfair and inconsiderate when it comes to students. She's been here for years so I assume my complaints won't be acknowledged, I'm sure I am not the first person to complain about her.
